Hi everyone. As I have no clue about when I'll be able to perform my acid techno liveset again, I was thinking that it was the right time to share with you some of the tracks I specifically created for this liveset. Most of these tracks are reinterpretations of the tracks featured on my debut album Wildfire, but there are also some completely original tunes that I never released properly before.

Hi everyone. To introduce this 'live material series', I had no other choice than starting with the live version of Wildfire Part 1. Firstly because it's with this track that the whole Cinder project started, but also because I used it as the intro of almost every of my livesets.

Cinder - Wildfire Part 1 (Blow-Up Mix) [Free DL]

Hi everyone. Today I'm glad to present you the second track from the 'Live Material Series'. This track is very special to me, as the original version of Wildfire Part 2 is for some reason my favourite part of the Wildfire album. I guess it's because it's one of the very few tracks I ever made without overthinking anything. It was like each step of the creation process was telling me what to do next, and the only thing I had to do was to let myself be guided. I guess some of you can relate very well to this :)

This 'Melancholic Acid' mix is relatively close to the original mix. As its name suggest, the most significant difference is the addition of an acid synth layer. What I wanted was to reinvent the track and adapt it to my acid techno liveset, but without losing neither its melancholic vibe nor its simplicity.

[ LIVE MATERIAL SERIES N°4 ]

Hi everyone. Today I'm glad to present you the fourth of the 'Live Material Series', which is nothing other than the live version of Wildfire Part 4. The original version of this track is surely the most electro-oriented one of the whole Wildfire album. A heavy distorted bass, nervous synths, and most of all a huuuge sidechain effect, every element of the perfect 'way too compressed' electro tune was there.

As I started to work on the 'Cinematic Mix', I thought it would be interesting to convert this very naive energy into some 'epic video game' vibe. What I did then was pretty radical: I isolated the original bass sound and a few other ones, and I started constructing a whole new narrative around, with this kind of completely overexaggerated break in the middle, and the mandatory acid part at the end.

Even if I had a lot of fun playing this track for a while, there was eventually a time it didn't fit in the liveset anymore, so I removed it and replaced it by something more relevant. I'm very happy to finally release that forgotten track, so everyone can listen to it again whenever they want. Because even if it is a little far from the kind of music I'm making now, it is an important part of the Wildfire story.

[ LIVE MATERIAL SERIES N°5 ]

Hi everyone. Today I'm glad to present you the fifth of the 'Live Material Series'. As its name suggests, Wildfire Part 5 (Trap Suite Mix) is a part of a trap section that was featured in the very first version of my liveset. That trap section included elements from two Wildfire tracks: Part 5 and Part 6. I didn't have any precise goal when creating this, it's just that the overdramatic tone and slowness of the original mix of Wildfire Part 5 made me think that a trap version of it could work well.

To put this idea into shape, I took the main melodic elements, I added a slow beat with that kind of 808-like kick, and I converted the original bassline into a lower and simpler one. Then I added a few new elements, like the voice arpeggio you can hear in the last part.

I really, really liked the result. But after playing it a few times live, I had that feeling that the slowness of it was completely killing the vibe. A few seconds-long trap section would surely have worked perfectly, but a suite of two tracks was too much. That's why I removed both very quickly, and replaced them with something more appropriate.

I'm very happy to finally release the first half of this trap suite today. I didn't listen to it at all for a couple of years, so it's like I'm bringing back to life a forgotten but precious part of my musical journey.

Cinder - Wildfire Part 5 (Trap Suite Mix) [Free DL]

Hi everyone. Today I'm glad to present you the twelfth of the 'Live Material Series'. Wildfire Part 12 (Fast Recovery Mix) was the conclusion of the first iterations of my liveset. Initially, my liveset featured the twelve Wildfire tracks I shared with you during the past few months, from Part 1 to Part 12. It was only then that I started switching the order of the tracks, finding better and most interesting transitions, and ultimately adding new tracks that were not based on tracks coming from the Wildfire album, like my remix of Calling Marian's Pisces for instance.

Hence, Wildfire Part 12 (Fast Recovery Mix) was conceived as the final piece of a whole. As it was following Wildfire Part 11 (Hardcore Mix) - the track I released two weeks ago - I wanted it to be able to drastically cool down the atmosphere. I also wanted it to be a synthesis of the whole liveset, a little like the final scene of an old-school blokbuster where all the characters would be reunited, and would be smiling to each other. That's why the track features all of the emblematic Wildfire elements: the acid sounds, the punchy drums, the strings, the melancholic synths, and the vocal samples. The interesting thing is that all these elements gave birth to some sweet and happy vibe I didn't planned at all. Maybe it's because I had in mind the smiles from the characters in the movie.

Salut tout le monde. Aujourd'hui je suis heureux de vous présenter le 12ème morceau de la 'Live Material Series'. Wildfire Part 12 (Fast Recovery Mix) était la conclusion de mon live dans sa version initiale. Cette version comprenait les douze morceaux que j'ai partagés avec vous durant ces derniers mois, de la Part 1 à la Part 12. Ce n'est que par la suite que j'ai commencé à modifier l'ordre des morceaux, à chercher des transitions plus intéressantes, et enfin à ajouter de nouveaux morceaux non reliés à l'album Wildfire tels que mon remix de Pisces de Calling par exemple.

Ainsi, Wildfire Part 12 (Fast Recovery Mix) a été conçu comme la dernière pièce d'un tout. Comme ce morceau suivait Wildfire Part 11 (Hardcore Mix) - le morceau que j'ai sorti il y a deux semaines - je voulais qu'il soit capable de faire considérablement baisser la température. Je voulais aussi qu'il constitue une sorte de synthèse de l'ensemble du live, un peu comme la scène finale d'un blockbuster à l'ancienne dans laquelle tous les personnages seraient réunis et s'échangeraient des sourires. C'est pourquoi le morceau contient tous les éléments emblématiques de Wildfire : les sons acid, les percussions punchy, les cordes, les synthés mélancoliques, et les samples vocaux. Ce qui est intéressant, c'est qu'une vibe douce et heureuse a émergé de tous ces éléments, ce qui n'était absolument pas prévu. Peut-être est-ce dû au fait que j'avais en tête les sourires des personnages sus-mentionnés.
