A playlist containing reposted mixes and tracks by artists featured in Artmospheric Festival 2016 line-up. 

Artmospheric Festival, the mountain gathering for deep tripping music and alternative culture, will take place in July (14-17), a decade after idea was born, high up in the Bulgarian western Balkan mountains.

This year's night main stage music line-up will explore the bridges between several musical concepts at the core of Artmospheric aesthetics, transforming an evolving mixture of intelligent grooves and mystic spatial atmosphere blended with lights and visual tunnels into a long high-resolution dancefloor journey. Traditionally, the daylight hours will feature more organic and panoramic music, fading from dubby electronica through idm and abstract jazz to cinematic sound and space rock.

An integral part of the festival map, the small forest stage, with its parallel program including experimental concerts, jam sessions, live projects and DJ sets, will in addition host an intro ambient night on Thursday, 14th.

As The Poeticast consummates #68, we remain in the UK this week as Manchester's Phil Denton drops by to lay some pounding Techno on our speakers with another astounding Guest Mix.

Mancunian through and through, Phil Denton came across techno as a welcome knock on effect of one flirtatious moment with trance in his teens. Keen to build on this new interest, Phil continued to explore electronic music, eventually seeing him become one of the founders and resident DJs of Dirty Analogue, a night that has provided a stage for many now household names to make their UK/Manchester debuts. Skipping forward a year or two Phil joined the fray at Manchester's no-nonsense techno affair Colour, playing alongside the likes of Ben Sims, DJ Rush, Robert Hood, and Surgeon to name just a few, and can now be found playing for Process Manchester supporting the likes of Dave Clarke and Jeroen Search. 

Alongside his expanding DJ presence, Phil's obsession for rolling beats has lead to significant output in the studio. Having turned his hand to production a few years back, Phil is forging a tidy reputation as an artist, with a steady discography already behind him including EP's and remixes for F.O.S, Audio Borderline and Tono Limited. With his rate of output increasing steadily, Phil is also focusing on the deeper side of techno in the studio, and takes both deep and dubby vibes into his DJ sets whilst his UK roots remain prominent, often utilising three or more decks.

Cocoon Recordings very own "best of" series presents the next issue which is again simply called by the number of the release-order. So it's number „nine“ this time ("Neun"). Yep, you heard right, number nine it is and another proof how fast time is passing while we listen to house and techno ;)

Sven Väth has choosen Chris Tietjen again to compile and mix the pearls of the last Cocoon Recordings releases. Tietjen started as a young gung in Väths Cocoon Booking agency and developed into a proper club-dj over the last years. He even released his first solo-12" on Cocoon Recordings in 2012 which marked his final arrival in the techno-business.

Tietjens progression as a DJ is clearly noticeable here as he laid down a very elegant and smooth overall mix. He delivered one of the best of his mix-compilations so far. He starts the journey with two Matt John and one Minilogue track which creates a very moody and warm introduction. The transition into the following part can be seen as a kind of "warm up" one would like to hear in a good techno-club. Next in the mix are Adam Port, Popof (Animal & Me) and Nick Curly who step by step feed the mix with more energy. From minute 22 onwards the mix starts to kick in and the bass-cabinets of your speakers should defintely move stronger now.

Pele & Shawnecy, Sante & Frank, André Galluzzi & Dana Ruh are the following names in the mix and together with the next track by Mauro Picotto & Riccardo Ferri we have four strong collaborations waiting in this section of the CD. It seems the "techno duet" is the new way to create cool club music these days. The amount of energy here is triggering the right senses and beams us back to the high days of the Cocoonclub Frankfurt, the Cocoon Ibiza nights or all these infamous summer open airs. Nice one!

The ending section is based on tracks by wAFF, Julien Bracht, Temma Teje, Uner and Mind Against and it is the dignified counterpart to the elegant beginning. Tietjen manages to swing out as smooth as he started the mix. To cut a long story short: "Neun" turns out to be a very nice overview of what has happened over the last months in the Cocoon Recordings universe and it defintely calls out for more... number ten we are waiting!

Sound Avenue celebrates its 50th release by welcoming John Debo to the label for a brand new single entitled 'Reticent Hues'. The US artist was an integral part in the development of electronic music in the United States. John founded two of Boston’s pioneering club nights – Chrome & Avaland, which were conceived as conduits to bring forward thinking DJs and upfront dance music from around the world to Boston. These storied club nights were cultivated into two of the world's best electronic music showcases which routinely featured John Digweed and Sasha. John's own studio productions also flourished in a similar matter, appearing on Bedrock Records, FFRR and his own Mindwarp Records imprint. John's debut single for Sound Avenue is entitled 'Reticent Hues' and it comes with remixes from Deepfunk and Dustin Nantais.

For those lucky enough to get a copy of Madloch's Sound Avenue #01  mixed CD you've already had an early preview of 'Reticent Hues'. It's deep and moody grooves proved to be a standout on the mix and many followers of the label have already been calling for its release. The deep, brooding sensibilities which dominate the first act are striking but there's an interesting story which follows. The addition of tranquil synths and dubby textures see the stark beats and temperamental vibes develop a soothing, melancholic air. It's an enlightening narrative and one which John's uniquely tailored beats keep firmly on the dance floor. Definitely one to the set an amazing atmosphere in any room.

The first interpretation of 'Reticent Hues' is provided by Malcolm Abdilla aka Deepfunk who is returning to Sound Avenue for his third appearance. The Maltese producer is fresh off the release of his highly regarded 'Secret Souls' single alongside a Petar Dundov remix. Malcolm's past  interpretations for Sound Avenue (of Mitrinique and Vinayak A) remain standouts on the label and he's turned in an excellent interpretation of 'Reticent Hues'. Beginning with a pulsating foundation and soft textural overlay it's an immediately inviting creation. The techno inspired groove picks up momentum quickly as a wealth of melodic motifs begin to develop. Warm chord changes along with eerily, mesmerizing lines carry the track into a brief but very effective break. Cascades of drums and broken rhythms quickly summon the groove back for a third act of offset sonics and drifting lines which lift the emotion even higher. Another standout production from Deepfunk. 

The second and final interpretation of 'Reticent Hues' is provided by Dustin Nantais who is making his first appearance on Sound Avenue. The Canadian producer has enjoyed much success the last calendar year. Appearances on Manual Music, Perspectives Digital, Proton Music and Stripped Recordings have all been stellar and by all accounts the remainder of 2015 looks to be even stronger. Dustin has this amazing ability at crafting smooth energetic grooves that you just want to dance to and his 'Reticent Hues' interpretation is no different. The reworked bass line has a smooth, funky roll and a fresh top line of fantastic hooks adds intrigue and emotion. Waves of percussion bring a warm rush out of the main break along with sultry vocal elements which further mystify the senses. It's a wonderful remix from a producer whose studio repertoire is growing at an unfathomable rate. Another amazing release on Sound Avenue which is full of variety, talent and musical quality.  Don't miss it.

Bio:
Joanna was born in Cornwall in the U.K. but spent most of her life in Portugal, between Faro and Porto. She lived for the last 3 years in Barcelona and Berlin and is currently based in Porto.
In 2007 she started dj’ing in a small club in Faro, with musical
sessions that went from trip­hop to minimal. At first as a warmup act, but rapidly gaining all night sessions, which are her favourite.... to have time to construct something, and kidnap her listeners on a musical voyage. Went back to Porto in 2009, where she had studied architecture in early 2000s, started dj’ing in and around the local music scene (more "indy"), to culminate with the “Are Friends Electrik?” parties (more "techno").
Her style is now more defined than before but the objective still the same: to be able to make her audience’s heartbeats pulsate to the rhythm of techno and dance with the feeling of being in a unique place for a unique moment.

She hosts Resistance is Futile with Wasteyouth for a year now, a Radio Show Thursdays at 21:00 UTC+1 on Seance Radio (www.seanceradio.co.uk). One hour of Electronic Music with a new show on every two weeks.

My name is Craft and this week we present Stephanie Sykes from Manchester in the UK.

Born in Germany and raised in Manchester, she has been a staple of the local scene in the UK including a residency at Birmingham night Atomic Jam, one of the UKs best known and longest running techno nights. Recently she is a regular at places like Tresor and About Blank in Berlin, Corsica Studios in London, as well as showcases and festivals around Europe. She was was signed as label artist to Dasha Rush’s Fullpanda Records and performs at the All You Need is Ears events at Tresor. Resident Advisor recently awarded her Inner Escape Podcast as RA Mix of The Day. 

Her next shows include performances at 4D sound: Techno Is Space event in Amsterdam this weekend, Jaded party at Corsica Studios in London and Full Panda 10 year anniversary event at Tresor in Berlin this month. Her next vinyl release on Vent includes deeper intricate experimental soundscapes and features an awesome remix by Dasha Rush. It includes this track here called “Black Simulation”.

We featured her on Feed The Raver a couple of years ago and invited for Twice as Proper anniversary event 2 weeks ago in Brooklyn where she performed this massive 4-hr set recorded at Aphotic 407 warehouse in Brooklyn.

We are glad to announce  the first artist on Inveins : Brando Lupi.

Brando is an artist from several angles. Producer, musician, DJ and photographer. His influences range anywhere from post industrial-rock, experimental electronic to modern classical. The native Italian worked alongside a number of talented artists.
He's also the owner of the label Detune Records, founded in 2000. Brando’s releases have been picked up by the likes of Orange Groove, Samuvar, Dewtone Recordings, Mental Groove, Zooloft, Detune Records and Elettronica Romana.
Recently, he composed a score for the movie “La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi” distributed by Medusa, with the soundtrack signed by Mike Patton, leader of Faith No More, and presented at the 67th Venice Film Festival.
He currently resides in Rome, spreading experimental spiritual frequencies across the world.

Brando has a good spirit to feel free with music, for your body and your mind.

After his chill session as MYSTICISM, our multicolored hero Ozzy Cetin a.k.a. RAMIZES presents his progressive vibes.

Ozzy Cetin aka Mysticism, Ramizes & Freetech was born in 1984 in Istanbul and discovered psy-trance at the age of 18 over the albums of Kox Box, Cosmosis, Hallucinogen, Goa Gil, Astral Projection etc. Since then he has been gathering a psy-trance archive which still continues. In the city he studied his BA, Ozzy organized various indoor psy trance parties and mixed tracks as Ramizes between 2004 – 2007. Meanwhile, he helped out his producer friends by giving them ideas and loops for their new tracks.
Since 2006 Ozzy has also been involved in some of the most well respected festivals and psy organisations around the planet such as Soulclipse, Ozora, Psy-Fi, Sonica, Earthcore, Tree of Life, Free Earth, Neon, Psy-Boutique, Mind Manifest Project and many more. He now dedicates himself to his psy-trance organizations community, Crystal Kids, to spread the word through the minds which are ready to unite with respect, peace & love ♥.

It had been quite some years since I was invited to play at PsyTribe let alone asked to close it out which is the best slot there IMO. I was told I could play pretty much as long as I wanted, but after a bit over 3 hours the land owners pulled the plug unexpectedly. Those bastards! Anyways, it was still a long set and quite fun to play too! Here is the recording and for those Prog Psy aficionados you will recognize that I went deep into some old school tunes here, and actually had I been able to play the full set I was ready to dive way deeper into a serious history lesson.
