MikkiM and the legendary Dreadzone vocalist Spee, team up to do this new dancehall anthem - "We Come Again". Bass in the original version was played by Brazilian wizard Victor Rice. Dub mix was created by North American finest reggae/dub producer Dubmatix. The record is coming out with four more remixes, three of them are from the top Czech electronic music producers- Chong X,Grove and Voita Lipert. Cumbia,tech house and breakbeat versions make this release interesting and suitable to play on many kinds of parties. One more dub remix is coming from the big French talent, producer MoL. Record is released digitally on Big Bong Records (BGBG004).

Mikkim & Spee - We Come Again (Chong X remix)

Kosta Kostov is back with some new collabs and a new approach on oriental gypsy roots and bass.On his new EP „Hasrat“ (Desire) on VLAD Records he is featuring the iranian duo Manushan, genious perfomers playing with flamenco, violin and great vocals. The recordings for „Hasrat“ were made in Kostas' studio in Cologne after a spontenious meeting and jam. „Svetlinata“ (The Light) is blending heavy bass with belly dance feeling. The violin hook was played by the romainian virtuose Vale. „Svetlinata“ features Katya Tasheva, bulgarian singer based in Berlin. Known for her wide variety of singing styles (jazz, soul and bulgarian folklore), she works with the bands Rotfront, Mr. Zarko and Human Sampler. 

The four remixes on the EP dig the originals on a special way. Colombian maestro Bleepolar is bringing "Hasrat" in a beatifull housy percussive mood, just before the 1001st night falls, while Global Bass pistolero Rafa Aragon jiggles with moombahcore and organic harmonies. French electro producer Sauvage FM shakes „Svetlinata“ in a nice zouk bass riddim and VLAD boss Boris Viande knows how to blow you away with heavy synths.

Originally released on Laid Back Radio via Mixcloud on December 11th 2014, here’s the free download of “The Georgian Groove Essentials”.
It’s my second lesson in a series of Soviet Groove mixes. This time my attempt was to cover some of Georgia’s unique musical output from the 70s and 80s. I hope you enjoy the distinct Georgian flavour in the songs, mostly recognisable in the traditional rhythmic and melodic approaches in the vocals. Furthermore, Georgia’s Pop music had strong influences from Jazz and Rock, and musicians from the small Caucasian country weren’t shy of using western compositions and adaptations on their, always state-controlled, albums. This amalgamation of styles makes it one of the most wonderful music relics from the Soviet era.

Additional Info:
The mix solely features material that has been officially released on the Soviet state label Melodia. The artwork is an adapted version of VIA 75’s album “Для Тебя Живу, Грузия Моя” from 1984.

Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project just between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album with a total of 25 contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 2 is slated for a November 1st release on the DD Bandcamp page, and features sonic reinterpretations from Emancipator, Aligning Minds, Mumukshu, Sixis, David Starfire, Whitebear, Erothyme, Mystral, Master Minded, Halfred & Enzalla, Lulacruza, Bumble, Soohan, and Supersyllius. With artists from across the globe and musical genres, these carefully crafting renditions of Desert Dwellers' The Great Mystery are a potent combination of immersive soundscapes that pay a loving tribute to the original compositions.

Octave One announce their new album under the much loved Random Noise Generation guise. The first RNG release was 'Falling in Dub' in 1991 and sounding just as fresh 27 years later, ‘Endustry’ is due for release this spring. 

Something of a new take on their creative process the Burden brothers made most of this music on the road while they toured over the past year, using the country they were in at each time they recorded to influence and inspire each track. “We were tucked away in so many hotel rooms that we decided to make sure we brought enough extra equipment so that we could set up a true lab to create from country to country and make the grooves that we wanted to experiment with on the dance floor.” comments Lawrence.

This body of work encompasses 7 full length cuts, naturally all with that classic Octave One emotion. “'Alkaylze', more than any of tracks on this project, embraced the original spirit of Random Noise Generation in so much as the “machine” seemed to be really guide the creative process.” Adds Lenny “Much of the foundation of the composition was very accidental, but inspirational, with various musical devices interpreting data in a very unexpected results. It actually came together quite quickly but things just fell into place so naturally.” 

After touring and making music for decades the spirit and essential energy of the craft is what keeps them eternally inspired to keep creating and touring the globe… ”Once it takes hold of you you can’t stop even if you wanted to.” says the pair, and so 'Endustry' is born.
