Earlier this year Lia and I found a small blip of time to get into the studio and jam in the lead up to a collaborative performance together at Goolugatup Heathcote Gallery. At that time she had acquired some new gear which ended up becoming the workhorse to help write some finishing melodies and pads on an unfinished project of mine.

It’s out today as part of a various artists compilation put together by @radiosygma. All proceeds from this compilation will go directly toward local organisations, families and individuals displaced in Rafah aiming to assist them in acquiring tents, covering rent, and basic necessities. Necessities they have been deprived of due to a violent occupation imposed by the state of Israel.

Music and art is not a magic political re-education pill. However, I do believe it can provide us with radiant materials in dark times. It can act as conduit and force of resistance and repair. Ceasefire now

For a new episode of our regular ethereal mixes, we invited audiovisual artist Manuel Sékou, also operating under the moniker luxxuryproblems.

The artist’s mixes appear to a listener as diaries of subtle, seemingly tangible sensations and labyrinths of images. In the new material, he layers microtunes onto texture-rich fragments, as if breaking the recording into a series of successive frames.

Previously, luxxuryproblems was published on labels such as SPA, 76666 and Gem Tones, and has also contributed tracks to compilations from Katharsis, Sirens, World Canvas, Comic Sans and Infinito Audio. Two years ago, his latest mini-album “Flexfit” was released on SPA.
