I'm a sucker for a good trilogy so it was only a matter of time before I would come up with a follow up to "Hacienda High Times" from 2019 and "Hacienda Now Times" from 2021 - so, here we are. This is "Hacienda Chill Times", a fitting final chapter for my mixtapes dedicated to the unique spirit of the early rave days and that iconic club in Manchester. And while the first ones focussed on the floorfilling dance anthems, this one heads into more relaxed 'after hours' territory.

Over the past months I got a bit more obsessed with the cloudy synthpop of the early 90s which played a crucial part in my childhood. Lots of these tracks still had that grooving acid house DNA but in a ways softer and more subtle way so that's the vibe I was going for. The groove is obviously still there, just not in the limelight. And while the first two mixtapes separated the old from the new tracks I decided to mix them all together this time. So you get artists from the 90s heydays like The Shamen, New Order, The Beloved, Way Out West and Primal Scream right next to modern day stuff from Lone, Earth Boys, Peggy Gou, Swim Deep and Bicep. Different times, same vibe. It's the perfect final puzzle piece here, a trippy little summer breeze you can enjoy before and after the big party.
