PREMIERE: Flash Atkins - Cold Oak Smoker [Sprechen Music]

Moscow's ИДА crew reach their eight release with a mini-album from Metallic Means, a diverse set of songs high in atmospherics and sampled beats, constructed from unusual textures and blended with synths and live instruments. 'Skywards' is the stand out track, with it's organic drum work, jaunty bass pads and melancholic keys. Fans of Bonobo and Flying Lotus should take note.

Ethereal pads ease us above the clouds, then as the kick gradually takes over we are slowly but surely pulled back down to earth. As the sub bass enters the fray, our feet are firmly on the ground treading a familiar four four groove; reminiscent of the bleep/warp days of Sheffield and the skipping snares of Renegade Soundwaves 'Thunder.' In an almost pitch black warehouse, a solitary green laser skits across raised hands and swirling strawberry scented smoke. Spacious repeated melodies scatter in and out of the ethereal pads and cavernous sub bass give us a sense of hope to a better future.

Alexander Robotnicks 2013 italo disco classic gets the remix treatment courtesy of tastemakers Hell Yeah Recordings and an all star cast. Scandi-disco hero Prins Thomas turns out an edgy disco cut with rasping bass and hip swaying drums. Man of the moment Bawrut’s version is a pumping old school house jam, complete with analogue bass and an unhinged lead line to bring the madness. We however plum for Belfast's The Vendetta Suite weirdo take. His rippling synth puddles and sci-fi motifs are brilliantly rich and glowing that fill you with warmth for a mind expanding and other wordly experience.

Solune joins ANMA with a slick EP of tribal heavy, deep house cuts. Our pick is 'Ceremony'; heavenly keys flutter over a rumbling sub bass while organic percussion swings through the track. A familiar sample adds to the groove, hightening the spiritual vibe. Patrice Scott delivers a more uptempo, sripped back remix on the flip while retaining the melodic feel. A really solid EP.

Clandestino have been involved in Leeds' underground music scene for over 20 years; regularly throwing diverse parties and inviting exciting DJ talent. Their esoteric style of dance music has gained them gigs at some of Europe’s premier club spots such as Renate in Berlin, Stalingrad in Paris, Geneva’s La Graviere and Powerhouse in Moscow in addition to being regular fixtures on the discerning festival circuit. Their monthly show on KMAH Radio is deemed essential and their podcast series is revered world wide for showcasing regular mixes from high caliber and lesser known DJ's.
