The piece illustrates this musical journey through Italy, following "Ravello," "Les Jardins de Ravenne," and "Retour à Ravenne." Bach's guiding shadow adds a sacred and timeless dimension, reinforcing the idea of this "thirst" (sete) as a need to believe in something greater and transcendent. The music speaks to all of this.
