Do you remember the stars we were under 
the moon was cut in half
When one was two and two was one and baby we were stuck at three
Always just you and me

When the world was the ocean and we were the oysters
The water always moving but weren't going places
But we didn't mind we were shoulder to shoulder
Which only made us stronger and oh so bolder
But time is no gentleman you know

And then the future came leaving room for gaining age
If only time weren't so strange
But fates unkind, a simple twist can turn a bullseye into a miss
At least that's what I believe

Time's unforgiving it doesn't wait for the living
And you have to know it was not ours to say so
I was a stone and you were a feather
Destined to move according to the weather
Time is no gentleman you know

And that's just how the current goes taking us further from home
With the white water behind
We're out of reach and out of touch and though it may not sound like much
It's a beautiful way to go 

Maybe the stone will roll the right way
Or maybe the feather will keep to the sky 
But we'll never know and that's how it should go
