The funk can do many things to you and for you, if you allow it to: it can hit you in the head, it can shake you in the hips, it can take over your soul. Put simply, it can transform you, changing your sense of reality and understanding of the world around you, as well as how you feel within. That's something this rhythmic principle so dear to our dancing activities does to us regardless of tempo or setting, of place or time, and its power is what puts this mix by gifted Parisian selector Clémentine in motion by propelling it while it carries us through a vast array of moods and moments, from intimacy to flamboyancy, from our ears to our feet, from dusk till dawn. The dexterity and delicacy she uses to guide us through these varied soundscapes is something with which listeners of her delightful Mellow Madness show on LYL Radio and anyone acquainted with her curatorial efforts behind the wonderful label Chuwanaga are quite familiar. Here she takes us on a journey that tests the universal reach of that musical template and proves its efficacy in improving all aspects of life, providing this series a proper return with an auspicious vibe to the year we just entered.

This month I'm glad to host @missmoon for the second hour of the show with a mix from abstract break beat to futur jazz and house.  
Djing since the end of 1990's MissMoon was a real activist for electronic music in the south of france, inspired Detroit techno and Chicago house. She's also from my hometown and I've played one of my first gig with her back in the days so it's quite symbolic to have her in the show 🙃
i'm still amazed to discover that this part of france has known the golden age of rave parties and electronic music when i was a little baby - looks like I was definitely not born at the right time.

first show of 2024 and i’m glad to receive french label @leseditionsvermillon and more specially @gee-2s and @tinyalbert with a mellow and deep mix for the second hour!

@leseditionsvermillon has been launched in 2021 by four music aficionados with their inaugural compilation Le Grand Sud- Est: 1979-1986 which features forgotten gems from the South-East of France (Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur). 
You should check it out if you haven't already!  
A second compilation is set for 2024 (second half) and a track may be hidden in their mix. 👀

Amazing DJ, selector and radio host, Coco Maria started in 2019 the Breakfast Club Coco show on Worldwide FM and recently joined NTS Radio, presenting the NTS Breakfast Show weekly. Coco Maria has also curated two beautiful compilations for Bongo Joe Records. "Club Coco" (volume one) a summery collection of Latin and Afro-rooted music and volume two ¡AHORA! The Latin sound of now - featuring a sackful of Latin inspired tracks from international bands and producers.
I highly recommend checking them out if you haven't yet!!

Jérémy and I first met a decade ago, brought together by the incredible power of music. He has been a profound inspiration to me, just like his label, My Love Is Underground. Jérémy is the one who truly inspired me to become a DJ and involve myself in music.

As a renowned selector across all kind of styles, he's also known for his curation skills, having crafted high-quality compilations such as two volumes of My Love Is Underground on Favorite Recordings and Beauty on Spacetalk (which is always in my bag).

For over the past few decades, the enigmatic Anne, aka Serious A, has been collecting records, video games, while crafting her unique sound —a deep, sensitive and dreamlike style that bridges the ancient and the unknown. Her music echoes influences from Tokyo, Detroit, and Paris and surrounded by 808​ ​beats​. Her music reflects influences from city lights like Tokyo, Detroit, and Paris, all intertwined with the unmistakable rhythm of the 808.
Anne has a talent for blurring the lines between funk, house, and ambient soundscapes, making her one of the most promising producers of our generation. You’ve probably already heard her acclaimed releases on ILIO Records, Blorp and Natural Frequency Records, just to name a few!

First show of the year, and I’m more than happy to be joined by Parisian DJ and selector @rawqueen for the second hour 🙃

Renowned for his ability to discover and highlight the deeper aspects of soulful gospel music, Raw Queen is a dedicated collector of 7-inch records, specializing in obscure gospel, modern soul, and disco tracks but not only.

Beyond DJing, he also hosts Discostormy, a disco party in Paris aiming to keep the disco scene alive (which is to me a fight to keep its spirit alive in the face of near extinction). In addition, Raw Queen co-founded Kendama Records, through which he organizes house party in Paris.

As always, I handled the first hour, featuring a lot of AOR and soft rock tunes.

New episode of Mellow Madness and I’m honored to welcome Sean P for the second part of the show with a very special Japanese fusion selection!

London-based DJ, sound engineer, and former record dealer at the iconic Music & Video Exchange, Sean P is also a renowned disco and dance music connoisseur. He’s behind the curation of numerous killer compilations on labels like Z Records, BBE, and Claremont 56 — including Under The Influence, Soul of Disco, and Supafunkanova — and has collaborated with Backatcha (big up!) and many other great labels through remixing, editing, remastering, and mixing tracks.
An avid vinyl collector and deeply respected DJ (one of the best to me), Sean P’s selections are always deep, and sharp — spanning jazz funk, soul, disco, and everything in between.
We had the pleasure of inviting him to Easter Sounds Festival in Paris back in 2018 — and what a party that was!

The first hour of the show is dedicated to my dear friend and brother Lotfi, who left us just a few days ago. Expect an all-killer-no-filler selection to celebrate love and life — just like he did. New episode of Mellow Madness and I'm super happy to be joined by @nickv for the second hour of the show, taking us on an eclectic, smooth journey through soulful sounds—including jazz-funk and many shades of electronic music—true to his rich musical culture and influences!

Born in Manchester, Nick V has remained a key figure in the house music scene since its early roots, with an influence that continues to shape today’s dancefloors. He started DJing in 1994 at the legendary Parisian club Le Queen, and quickly became a staple of the city’s nightlife through a series of iconic residencies. In 2008, he launched La Mona, a unique dance culture party that celebrates the deep connection between dance and electronic music, putting movement back at the heart of the club experience and becoming a true Parisian mainstay. Each month, Nick and his team kick off the night with free dance classes—like Voguing and Waacking—rooted in the early disco and house movements, creating one of the most welcoming and vibrant parties in the city.
Nick also runs the label Mona Musique, releasing music from talents like Hugo LX and Lea Lisa, and he curates the acclaimed House of Riviera compilations, which pay homage to forgotten gems from the classic Italian house scene (circa 1991–1994).

As usual, I’ll be taking care of the first hour expect cosmic jazz-funk, AOR, boogie, and a bit of broken beat and house, with tracks from @mysticjungle, @angles-morts new EP, @unisunofficial’s debut album ‘Hotel’ (just released today—happy release day!!), and @aldorande's new single 'Sweet Spot', from their upcoming album 'Trois' and many more!
