Ever heard of Maverick Sabre? I hadn't until a few days ago. His debut album 2012 album was #2 on the UK charts and yet I bet I don't know a single person who knows his name.

Why is that? There seems to be an annoying trend where talented singer-songwriters from the UK break big time across the pond and then years later the United States finally catches on. In this case, SEVEN years later. SMDH.

This English-Irish talent offers a catalogue where you can go deep down the rabbit hole. Unlike many songwriters, there style is consistent and unwavering, not Maverick. I read a review where they suggested this track is R&B/soul, but I don't hear that. I hear a milder Kings of Leon with a bit less drawl than Caleb Followill but with a similar depth. And that slinky bassline. That shit is soooo KoL. And I love it. Also don't miss his lyrical ode to Oasis - "I was chasing oasis, Champagne, supernova, I wonder walls through the city, And do we all live forever?"

Now for shits and giggles go pop on his track "I Need", then "Come Fly Away", and finally his collab with Jorja Smith "Slow Down". I mean c'mon. This guy is phenomenally diverse and phenomenally phenomenal.

Alright enough is enough. I know our backwards ass country takes decades to catch up in so many areas, and music absolutely isn't the priority, but I'll take it as a start.
