«Phenotypic plasticity» refers to the ability of organisms to adjust their physiology, morphology or development in response to environmental changes. This ability is especially crucial for immobile organisms, such as trees, which cannot move away from unfavourable conditions.
Performance artist Maja Renn and scientist Dr. Kate Johnson of the Plant Ecology Research Lab (PERL) explore the phenomena from a scientific and an artistic perspective. How are trees adapting to climate change? What can humans learn from trees?
