The three tracks for this EP are lovingly crafted using his collection of vintage drum machines, samplers and expansive modular setup, and are presented in both stereo and Dolby Atmos. Opener 'havin it' is quick-stepping, low slung house cut lit up with glistening chords and gorgeous soul samples that shine through next to low-key but euphoric 90s trance progressions. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside while remaining locked to the groove. 'lush' is just that, with summery harp strums shimmering across dusty and speedy deep house drums that sweep you up and fill your heart with hope and joy. It's a richly layered sound with a curiousness that truly enchants. Lastly, 'WNE' straightens your back with upright and snappy drums, woody percussion and frayed edged chords that have a cosy nostalgic glow. Coated in a lo-fi haze, plunging bass and aching vocal fragments pull you in different directions as you hurry to keep up with the frisky groove.

Spriitzz (aka Spray) and Regularfantasy capture the last rays of Summer on a new single for Gudu.
 
Based in Berlin and Montreal respectively (dance music’s top two cities on the brutal winter to creative output axis? Could be), Spray and Regularfantasy first linked up in Australia as mutual fans of each other’s music, before collaborating on a remix of Regularfantasy’s ‘So Sweet’ last year. After bonding over their love of 2000s dance-pop, this naturally transitioned to writing some original material – and here we are. 
 
Co-written with Regularfantasy’s bestie Kristian North and inspired by the idea of a Mediterranean summer love affair, ‘Honesty, Honestly’ was honed over two years of sessions. In their words, you can expect “perky pianos, high energy basslines and lovesick lyrics, fulfilling our dying wish to dovetail songwriting (“real music”) and dance-music (“canned music”). We’ve put a lot of time and love into this genre-melting banger.” 
 
We try not to fall too hard into cliche when describing music like this, but come on: it’s nostalgic, it’s romantic, and it sounds like it was shot with lens flare permanently on the screen. It just sounds like a Summer fling, and we fell for it from the first demo.

Honesty, Honestly

For the first EP on his new label, Planet Strangelove, @JobJobse brings new life to an overlooked balearic house gem: "Pasion," an early '90s deep cut by the Leeds artist Pianoman, inspired by Tangerine Dream's "Love On A Real Train,” aka the most breathtaking synth arp of all time. @AlexKassian, whose sprawling take on Manuel Göttschings's "E2-E4" already showed his fine touch for the kosmische vibe Tangerine Dream embodied, delivers a "Dance Mix" and a "Dream Mix," one packing a club-ready beat, the other drifting weightlessly. London duo The Trip, of the label and party Tesselate, deliver a remix as breezy as it is thumping, all wailing divas, sunkissed pads and shimmering pianos. As for Pianoman's "Analysis" remix, it's a dazzling artifact of the balearic era at its peak, touched by the ineffable essence of its time but sounding just as fresh as its modern reinterpretations.

Direct from the Hague (via Vilnius, Lithuania) comes your new favorite darkwave artist - Caline With C. A project both exploring the unknown and challenging the standard, Caline with a C creates music created in both interdisciplinary and intercultural actions - emotional experience and soundwave are the main focuses for Caline (aka Kamile), a student studying for a master degree in Sonology. In her own words: “I am a DJ, composer, performer, researcher and basically open to any kind of mentally, emotionally Direct from the Hague (via Vilnius, Lithuania) comes your new favorite darkwave artist - Caline With C. This alias was created for the reason of experimentation, as a free space for exploration of the unknown, both in the outside world and within. Emotional experience (which often works as a strong drive and motivation to the artist) and soundwave are the main focuses for Caline with C (aka Kamile), now studying Sonology in a master program.
In her own words: “I am a DJ, composer, performer, researcher and basically open to any kind of mentally, emotionally and acoustically stimulating activities. All my world turns around sound. I believe that “in the beginning, there was sound…”, therefore learning to talk and understand the language of sound has been a true delight.” This ethos comes across in the clear experimental versus intuitive approach at play on “Once in a Blue Moon”, with tracks that were recorded approximately over a period of one year. Her influences vary widely from musique concrète, industrial, bass, hip hop to dub, breakbeat, house, techno. The resultant 5 pieces move from ambient through darkwave, footwerk and bass with motifs of funky percussive house scattered throughout (courtesy of Kamile’s beloved Quasimidi Rave-o-lution 309), and is a pleasure for lovers of sonic experimentation.
