we lived in a very small town, where there wasn't much to do.
everybody's favourite place was the lake, people would go there to fish, have a picnic or just hangout with friends.
many years ago when my parents were small children, something bad happened.  only our grandparents generation know what occurred, but they kept the secret between them.
there are only a few people of that generation still alive, now one by one as they pass away they are all taking the secret to their graves.
the only thing they will say is......."don't go down to the lake, after the sun goes down"

It was while surfing the looperman site that I discovered his accapellas, so successful and with positive vibrations. Immediately under the spell, I decided to create an instrumental in order to grant this famous accapella entitled "Come on with me". Many thanks to Junior Paes for allowing me to use his voice. I hope you enjoy!

Chers amis, après cette longue absence sur les réseaux sociaux, je suis heureux de vous présenter cette nouvelle piste. Une collaboration avec un jeune chanteur à la voix d'or, Junior Paes!
C'est en surfant sur le site looperman que j'ai découvert ses accapellas tellement réussis et aux positives vibrations. Immédiatement sous le charme, je décidais de créer un instrumental afin d'accorder ce fameux accapella intitulé "Come on with me". Un grand merci à Junior Paes de m'avoir permis d'utiliser sa voix. J'espère que vous apprécierez!

THE DREAM

Written and recorded 1st December 2020

This week I only just learned of the passing of one of my favourite musicians on Soundcloud, Jim Horbett. Jim originally went under the monicker 'Local Man' and posted many wonderful songs, some of which are available on Bandcamp, but some are (as far as I know) only available here on SC.

Jim joined the Seattle Colonels of Truth a few years ago, but it was with his pals Daniel Ullom and Forrest Marowitz that he formed the Rain City Ramblers, a stunning 3-piece playing a mixture of their own material and traditional American roots music, including some of Jim's own pieces that he debuted here, such as Holiday and Suburban Hellfire. 

Jim's music was a great source of inspiration and one of his last posts on SC was an experimental piece called 'There's No Constant', a haunting and brilliantly imaginative piece that I took as inspiration for one of my most recent songs, 'On The Waterfront'... indeed, the original working title of my tune was 'Jim's song'. Sadly, by the time I messaged Jim to let him know about the song, he had already tragically passed away from cancer, aged just 31.

Our thoughts go out to everyone as we are in this all together.  Joining on this blues are three other musicians from around the world, Vlad Olley, Georg Boehme and Gernot Baur.  Vlad is a really fine blues guitarist and also brings his blues harp (left channel) out to add to the authentic blues sound. basic copyright on all tracks.
all of the tracks on here are made with a 12 track boss digital recorder.      to make some sounds more spacious such as the main chords and melodies i have to use 2 tracks at the same time. this is why i try to keep my tracks short because i can only use a limited number of sounds. if i use 2 tracks for bass, drums, chords and melody it only leaves me with 4 tracks for effects and secondary melodies. i prefer to record only one sound on the channels allocated as this avoids problems with volume levels.  i'm not a great musician, but i am also not very good with computers, so this is the only way i can demonstrate my musical ideas.  a big thank you to everyone who listens and comments.........and especially those who like.
