A melodic ballad that tells of a lone walker who comes across a suicidal woman on a clifftop walk. He talks to her and they spend the night dancing!

Lyrics.

I’d like to tell you a tale about a cold and moonlit night
The full moon climbed up high in a dark angry sky
The cliff path was quiet I was walking all alone
Up ahead I heard a voice a young woman on her phone

Standing too close to the edge, she was talking to some guy
Her voice so full of sadness then she started to cry
Her words dropped to silence when she saw that I was there
She looked me in the eye and said he really doesn’t care

I took one step closer but she shook her head at me
She looked down to the rocks below, then she fell down to her knees
The tears were running down her face, she wished that she was dead
I sat slowly down beside her, and this is what I said

Tears get lost in an Ocean no-one knows that they are there
When you choose to cry alone no-one knows so they don’t care
Save your tears for when you’re happy and give yourself a chance
When you’re feeling sadness just get up and try to dance

We sat there for a while, then she looked into my eyes
The lovely smile she gave me well it took me by surprise
She spoke the words so softly, would you dance with me
I took her hand I helped her stand I could hardly disagree

So we danced round and round she was so light on her feet
The crashing of the waves below played a perfect melody
Two strangers sharing sadness we danced into the night
High up on this clifftop life had never felt so right

We sat down on the ground, watched the sun slowly rise
The tears that she’d been crying were long gone from her eyes
She smiled and said thank-you your words helped set me free
It was then that I confessed that love had done the same to me

I’ve cried tears in an Ocean no-one knew that they were there
I’d always shed my tears alone no-one knew, so they didn’t care
Now I cry when I am happy and I give myself a chance
When I’m feeling sadness I just get up and I dance

Another long electronica piece.  I don't feel long on descriptions today for some reason.
(The next morning: I can say this much is, when i first heard it through my laptop's speakers it didn't sound great but the mastering from Soundcloud which I know a lot of people don't like, really helped this particular piece and then also the additional instrument layering I did, listening now to the conclusion it sounded a lot better than predicted on my mp3 player headphones).

Clive loves to make music, he has always written his own music and has always tended to lean towards instrumentals. Having discovered that he can sing in tune, his more recent songs are vocal compositions but instrumentals still appear occasionally.

Clive's music covers a wide range of genre's from Country, through Blues and Jazz, Rock and into progressive rock. 

Clive's influences are many and varied, Vangelis, Tomita, The Alan Parsons Project, Paul Simon, John Denver, Billy Joel, Bob Segar, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Neil Diamond, Rick Wakeman, Gerry Rafferty to name a few, so many good bands and  songwriters! 

Clive writes new songs constantly but only records a few, an important driving factor in his music is that other people enjoy it and are even able to relate in some way.

Clive does not use any form of AI in his lyric writing or musical compositions.
