Back before the fall, I put together this little showcase from the released discography of Cronomi Records and thought it's a good time to share it now. It's a ground-up approach, which was fairly common for sets back in the day. The DJ would start fresh and slow, and gradually steer things deeper and faster into oblivion.

I wanted to take a dive through the history of Cronomi and cover a a wide range of the sounds and tempos you can find through the label's offerings. I hope you enjoy the resulting story. 🙏❤️🍻

52 days have passed since that Black Saturday.
The day so many of us lost friends, family, partners, loved ones. I lost my parents, and I don’t think it will ever fully sink in.

I want to share a story that I’m only now able to return to.
A few months before October 7th, I got a call from Naor Levi (DJ AudioPhiller).
He told me that he and his friends from 604 Freaks Records in Portugal had been enjoying my sets and wanted to talk.

Eventually, we had a call full of music, stories, connection, and love.
Naor and the label asked me to record a Goa/Retro set – a sort of welcome set to their family.
We kept playing at the same events over the summer, sometimes before or after one another – always with joy.

I finally found time to record the set, carefully selecting 20 tracks close to my heart.
That recording happened exactly one week before October 7th.
Naor and I agreed I’d send it to him on Sunday, October 8th – right after his weekend set at Unity and Nova Festival.
I had sent him the tracklist, but the set… we said, “after Saturday.. after Nova Festival.”

Just a few days before that dark Saturday, I visited my parents in Kibbutz Be’eri and told them about the label and about Naor.
They had always been part of my musical journey, front row at my sets – proud and present.

Then came the massacre of October 7th💔
My parents were murdered in Kibbutz Be’eri in the morning hours,
and Naor was murdered at the same time on his way to the Nova festival, outside the kibbutz where my parents lived.

Naor never got to hear the set.
My parents never got to see it released.
But I promised I would still share it – with them, to heaven.
And now, I’m finally doing that.

This set is dedicated to all those we lost – and especially to my dear parents and to Naor.
If old-school Goa sounds can bring you a moment of comfort, I hope this set does that.

Fungus Funk is Sergei Prilepa, an established psychedelic trance musician from Moscow, Russia. Sergei started producing psytrance in 1998, and he has been releasing music since 2001. Over the past 15 years, Fungus Funk has put out his compilation tracks on numerous other labels. To his credit are four well-received full length albums: ‘F-People’ (2006) on Acidance, ‘Vostok 1’ (2008) together with Samadhi on Blitz Studios, ‘Electric Grooves’ (2010) also on Blitz Studios, and ‘Kremlin Gremlin’ (2012) on his own label Unlimited Music. Additionally, Sergei also released four acclaimed EPs. Fungus Funk’s sound is not easy to define as it incorporates features from different sub-genres of psytrance and generally tends to change from album to album. Regardless of which version of Fungus Funk you get to experience, it is guaranteed to be full of fat well defined basslines, powerful psychedelic leads, and top-notch sequencing. Courtesy of his productive musical output and subsequent popularity in the international psytrance scene, Fungus Funk regularly travels the globe and plays his live and DJ sets at various dance music events. Among some of the bigger festivals he has appeared at are the well-known Boom Festival (Portugal), O.Z.O.R.A. I really cant seem to come up with any words when trying to describe the music style of Slide and UX. Its just so aggressive and powerful and so very different then other goa trance producers. Waking Up To Chaos is my personal favorite track of all time.
