Inessa's track Te Quiero is a deep organic house track perfect for your summer feeling and vibes. She kicks it off with a soft shaker and toms weaving in her romantic accordeon melody as well as vocals and various synth FX. A deep kick opens the groove of the track accompanied by a deep grooving bassline. The track progresses nicely with atmospheric synths and flamenco guitar as well as piano lines. Te Quiero is an ode to Love and is made for you to lean back and float in this vibe. Perfect for your beach party or organic deep house set.
Jay's remix picks up on the tom groove opening up his track a little deeper with just the vocals and some deep percussive and synth stabs. He then lets his powerful kick take off the track with a deep and groovy bassline. A wonderful elaborate percussive journey gives the track a powerful afro groove. Guitar and deep synths as well as Inessa's key elements are implemented in a very refined. way. A fantastic interpretation from Jay and perfect for your deep Afro House set best played as well to establish those summer vibes.

Get Physical Music serves up a final EP taken from Thandi Draai's standout Africa Gets Physical Vol. 4 compilation, due for release in January 2022.

The mix is an in-depth and authoritative insight into the current African house scene and its major
players. It has been assembled by a leading voice, Thandi Draai, and features a number of the vocalist's
own tracks. But first comes this five-track Various Artists EP.
Khensy & Cuebur open up with 'Huwelelani,' an epic, seven-minute spiritual awakening. The vocals stir
your soul, the deep-rooted drums are earthy and tribal and the synths bring cosmic rays of light. Atmos
Blaq is next up with a remix of Thandi Draai's 'Iris' which is a chunky roller with a late-night sense of
mischief. Whispered vocals lend the track a sense of intimacy despite the grandeur of the synths. Shona
SA & Sazi Cele's 'Sekukude' keeps the spine-tingling deep house sounds rolling with more exquisite
pads and Afro vocals all unfolding next to thoughtful chords.
Un_nown & Zikhona link up to great effect on 'Sikelela' which layers shiny and loopy synths in with tribal
percussion and pounding kicks that get you marching. Another deeply affecting vocal lights up the whole
track and last of all comes Drega & Maline Aura's 'Mama Dear.' There is a beauty to the deftness of the
synths and dreamy melodies of this one that sends you off in a loved-up reverie, full of hope and
optimism.
This EP shows that the South African scene has never been more vibrant than it is now.

Mona Yim debuts on Rekids with ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’, featuring remixes from Radio Slave.

Born and raised between Singapore and Germany and now based in Berlin, Mona Yim spent time bouncing between the clubs of London, Berlin, and Paris while honing her craft, culminating in a recent remix for DJ Seinfeld’s ‘Tell Me One More Time’ on Ninja Tune. Now readying her debut solo release on Rekids, Mona Yim delivers two dreamy house cuts for the imprint, backed with a pair of remixes from label-boss Radio Slave.

Leading the release, ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’ brings crispy, bouncing drums alongside moody pads and subtle vocal chops, building up to an emotive breakdown. Radio Slave beefs up the drum patterns with breakbeats for his remix, adding additional atmospheric FX to existing melodic elements for a chunky, driving track. 

‘Dots Obsession’ sees floaty percussion, gentle synth work and vocals working in tandem to craft a soft yet evocative house jam. Injecting a pumping 4/4 pattern alongside elements of the original, Radio Slave’s interpretation brings the energy levels up with pitch-perfect dub FX and swirling synthesis.

Label manager of Belgian label DHB, Nico P is shedding his skin to create his new moniker, Aytiwan. Nico P, who usually produces melodic house music, created Aytiwan to dedicate his production solely to afro house sounds. The project has allowed him to express his emotions in a different style, collaborating with singer Nes Mburu to release upcoming EP 'Ilanga.' The 4 track EP sees remixes from label friends Enoo Napu and Klaudius.

Released on Nico P's new label Deep In Your Soul, the original track 'Ilanga' was inspired by love and positive energy. Produced by Aytiwan and performed by upcoming artist Nes Mburu, "nikupende, pende pende" is the melodic hook throughout the track, translating to "I love you, love you." The track begins with a steady rhythm, the heartbeat of the song, which is dark and brooding. Mburu's soulful voice cuts through, submerged in distortion and delay. Afro-house percussion lifts the atmospheric presence, building a dynamic and colorful soundscape. The track which sits at 7 minutes 30 seconds, never drops in energy levels, and the melodic repetition is hypnotic and spellbinding.

For the 'Ilanga' EP, Aytiwan collaborated with South African artist Enoo Napa, who produced two remixes for the EP. The first remix plays around with thudding bass lines and stomping beats. Electronic synthesizers weave in and out of each other, layered with Mburu's vocal hook. Piano chords add a bright warmth, especially during the drop before it plunges back into an intensely entrancing finale. Enoo Napa's alternative remix, experiments with new percussion and rhythms that give the song a different feel. A synth bass line is a standout feature, while the piano makes a return adding lightness to the mood. The atmospheric energy of Aytiwan's original track is still at the soul of the music.

Belgian producer Klaudius crafts a third remix, taking a different approach by using the piano as the foundation of the track, panned with gentle percussion, while Mburu fades from the distance into the forefront. Without the steady beat of the kick drum, the song feels mellow and contemplative, until it eventually kicks in bringing the song back to its origins. The hypnotic quality remains throughout, ebbing and flowing with ease, a melodic and laid-back arrangement that shows the song in a different light.

Each version of 'Ilanga' is a personal journey that reflects the original song in powerful ways, capturing different moods for listeners to experience, showing the versatility of Aytiwan's original production and creativity.

The first release on freshly started afro house label ‘All That Matters’ comes from Obataiye a relatively unknown name to the scene but what an awesome record he produced. ‘Nambia’ is built on a rhythmic beat with organic live sounding instruments and shakers. Add to that a staggering melodic groove and tribe sounding vocal and we have a winner we’re very proud of to kick off the label with. On remix duties we see Simone Vitullo and Newmanhere who both add their idiosyncratic sounds to finish off this awesome release.
