Eskimo Twins Bio

Since meeting as students in Leeds, these two friends have shared their passion for music. The pair immersed themselves in the city’s clubbing and live music scenes and after discovering a mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid and a lingering teenage love of Metal; they began making music together. 

Early demos generated murmurs of approval amongst bloggers, clubbers, open-minded members of the indie glitterati and earned them a residency at the one of the UK’s most prominent club nights, Wax:On. Shows in the UK and Europe followed along with 2 original EP’s and remixes which won them the support of fans and landed them a guest mix spot on Radio 1. 

Summers spend darting back and forth between English festivals and Ibiza residencies were paired with winters spend in a dark studio full of old synths. Those long days helped tighten and focus their sound producing a 3rd EP and a host of remixes for artists including People Get Real, Jon Dasilva, Twin Sister, Everything Everything, Justin Robertson, Dengue Fever, Peaking Lights and Vosper and Bozzwell.

The Twins have continued to focus on their efforts in the studio in conjunction with DJing and have a number of original EP’s and remixes scheduled for release in the coming months of 2013.

Underground Audio presents Toni Varga's 'Yuka' EP. An expert in crafting DJ tools over the past decade, Toni's first release for the imprint cements his ability as a generator of exceptional records. 

Title track 'Yuka' sees a mesh of flanged hi-hats dashed with flecks of acid synth lines. Emery Warman's Remix puts a shuffle on the original to give the bassline some added groove and motion, whilst System2 douse their version with sub pulses and vocal chops to create a ferocious stomper. 

'Kubu', Toni's second original of the EP, subtly interlocks toms, vocal lines and bass interjections to create a flowing house shuffler to round off the release.

Mexican @Durolabel welcomes Mario Gonzalez aka TYU (@theroommatesweb)  for its sizzling sixth EP.

Gonzalez also  head of Discos Sentimiento offers 2 dance floor filler tracks, Afecto and Misterio with an edit from the label and this beauty of a remix coming from Nicaraguan artist /Ambiance\ .... with him delivering an epic Kraftwerk-esque electro take on ‘Afecto’ that journeys off into the night on a slick groove.

/AMBIANCE\ (aka COMEGATOS) is one of other musical projects by a mysterious Nicaraguan artist living in Los Angeles. Grew up in Miami, Florida, J. was surrounded by cuban music and booty bass; thats where the love for electro, new wave, freestyle and bass began. After about 10 years living in New York and 3 years touring as Maynard Ferguson’s saxophone player, he decided to start a purely analogue, live and cassette recorded new project. /AMBIANCE\ v1.0 is inspired by soundtracks, films, drum machines, synthesizers and life's transformative events.

Club-focussed heaters are only a part of musical development. Sometimes you need to catch also the strings and melodies of a certain moment. From silence to wild nature noises, from sunshine to deep and dark winter mood. You are coming home with a melody in your head and you find peace in some hard and techy sounds coming in and bringing movement for your blood. Diverse like life, thats Mononoid's first longplayer. 

"Elf" is the first track creating a spacious atmosphere were you can loose yourself in, but still keeps you on the right track. "Anna" is intense and wide open, without loosing the trippy character. "Monorus" is full of magic with it's hard switch and it's spacey flair.A walk through an unreal world brings the track "Parks and Gardens" - a blues guiding you to a place in between where the clouds open up. 

With our dear friend Beatamines the dutch duo created "Yotta" which is a very techy track for the late night in the club. "Take steps" will bring you home finally with a bag full of new ideas and sounds. Enjoy this beautiful trip and don't get lost on the way - how the guys described it together with Amy White.

We’re living in an age of Apathy. Desensitised to the extreme, and never ending news of the world, we have no option but to approach life with a cool detachment. Citizen Kain explores this idea through the use of carefully selected percussion and little else. The track employs no melody and shows no emotion, referencing the theme effectively.
 
HearThug takes another approach. With a strong, mechanical beat and glitch FX, melodies flitter in and out of earshot. The descending melody develops in the break leading to final stripping back of the theme.

   'A few years ago I took a journey to Europe searching for a new sound. People along the journey had been telling me about this guy from Tropea, Italy called DJ Steve (named after his favorite musician, Stevie Wonder).
   He's a butcher there by day, but at night he's the DJ at a club called Casablanca. I made my way to this tiny town in the south of Italy and found DJ Steve. His 12 hour DJ sets opened my eyes. This guy was the real deal. He was playing dubplates, vinyl, cassettes, and reel-to-reel's. All special edits he had done over the years. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

   In late November of 2011 DJ Steve finally made his first visit outside of Italy and came to New York. He came on my Beats In Space radio show and blew everyone away. It was one of the most listened to mixes of the year. While he was in New York, I was able to record in a few of the dubplates of edits he had done. Those recordings are how we arrived at the release of "DJ Steve's Special Cuts #1 & #2". With this release we also started a new sub-label for Beats In Space Records. B.I.S. Records, Inc is for any of the edits or bootlegs we might come across. Expect to hear more from DJ Steve soon.'
