Some call it hardgroove, most call it tribal, but in the end, it’s this type of percussive and energetic techno that runs through my veins. Heavily reliant on its loop structure, layering for extended periods and quick mixing are keys to mastery of the style. Dominated by a smattering of Todd Terry loops, deft reinterpretations of disco tracks, and a strong reliance on the track “Bubble” by Tikkel, there are similarities abound in this genre, but the artform of it all comes when stitching them together in a high-octane yet coherent way. Ebbs and flows, calculated drops, and a freight train of basslines and stabs, this is a powerhouse way to see the end of my series out the door. The balance to all of these recordings - and my music career - is this “Fulcrum.”

Cloutier’s twenty-plus year commitment has been built upon his integrity as a DJ and authority as a selector. His reputation as an unequivocal, dexterous force is increasingly becoming one of note. He’s a DJ for whom quality - above all else - is the watchword.

since Mei 2020 i started mixing music. more than 23 years  ago rolled in the house and techno sene for club visits.my favorite music is techno and oldskool acid so i prefer to play this .and if it is a little softer  may I play progressive house and melodic house. ideal for afters.  . Furtive is a full-gonzo rave conjurer and relentless creative tinkerer, intractably committed to the rave as a Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, underground event organizer, and dancer. A shifting sonic chameleon, Furtive brings a scintillating, sentimental, and psychedelic touch to their artistry, rooted in wormhole-traversing technoid propulsion and dependably delivering riotous, slack-jawed whiplash moments of the delightfully unexpected. Their many polished and focused genre-spanning productions are informed by over thirteen years of experience in the studio, yielding a rich selection of tracks across their self-released discography, vinyl pressings, and contributions to compilations. A veritable product of the contemporary American underground, Furtive cut their teeth as a DJ and DIY event organizer in Washington, DC’s warehouses, where they once played a variety of turnkey roles in putting on some of the District’s more proper techno parties. Furtive co-founded and co-runs Bounce House, an intimate, blossoming off-the-books venue in Philly where they regularly hold court as a resident. Furtive is on broadcast monthly through Ashen Vanity, a radio residency at Philadelphia’s indispensable cultural mainstay Great Circles. As a DJ, Furtive has played hallowed halls (recently rampaging at Nowadays and Basement), dingy holes, roaring renegades, broadcast booths, and festivals (The Great Beyond '23, '24, and headlining in '25, Honcho Campout '24) - always with eclectic selections and a steadfast focus on pacing and dynamics while regularly jumping genres to build moving and impactful sets, often alongside internationally celebrated, no-nonsense acts. Beyond the fog and speaker stacks, Furtive creates art in a variety of mediums. They're as unapologetic in their sincerity and flair as they are in being a die-hard True Believer in the rave.

Deep Club is a record label, collective, series of parties, and devotion to American dance music that stretches from Denver, Colorado to Brooklyn, NY. Initiated in 2013 by a committed group of midwestern-raised DJs, Deep Club has cultivated a space in which developed and new forms of house and techno can be shared with the greater community. By marrying their club-level sound system with a DIY ethos, they present a focused vision and experience around their events. Over the last ten years Deep Club has hosted acclaimed talent like Marcellus Pittman, The Black Madonna, and Mike Huckaby at their dance-until-sunrise parties. A string of colorful and well-curated 12-inch vinyl releases and DJ mixes marks the outward and continuous growth of the Deep Club label concept.​ In 2021 a new chapter, Jewel, was carefully designed and executed in Brooklyn. Jewel aims to merge elements of American audiophilia with Midwestern and East Coast dance music roots.
