Axel Karakasisはギリシャのテクノシーンで最も名の通ったインターナショナルDJ。
80年から90年代にテクノミュージックが生まれると、Axelのエレクトロミュージックに大きな変化を与えた。90年代後半にはAxelはアテネのレジデントDJとして名を馳せることとなった。中でも彼のレギュラーパーティーである「Bubbles」でのギリシャトップクラスのDJたちと共に重ねた経験がギリシャ最大のクラブに出演するきっかけにもなり、今ではアテネ、テッサロニキ、ミコノス、クレタなど多数にわたる都市にある最大級のクラブで定期的にDJをしている。
Axel Karakasis は常に進化し続ける新しい音を作り出し、世界中のクラバーから高い支持を得ている。

-これはどちらで収録されたミックスされたものですか？また使用機材を教えて下さい。

これはアテネにある僕のスタジオで録音しました。使用機材はTraktorを4Deck立ち上げてミキサーはAllen & Heath xone92を使用しました。


-このミックスのコンセプトを教えて下さい。

僕がクラブで見せたいDJスタイルであり、僕が毎月ラジオで届けている「Remain PODCAST」に組み込んでいるスタイルです。


-最近の活動を教えて下さい。

最近は数々のレーベルのオリジナルやリミックス作業でずっとスタジオで制作しているよ。
でも僕はいつも自分のレーベル「Remain Records」のことだけ考えているよ（笑）
１２月に東京に行くから、みんなに会えることを楽しみにしているよ。

To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

The Labyrinthの20周年を記念して、過去10年間を振り返り、それぞれの年からひとつのミックスをピックアップすることにしました。イベントの歴史を記録すると同時に、過去10年間のアンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの歴史的なスナップショットを提供します。今聞いても色褪せない、タイムレスな極上のミックスをお楽しみください。

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

@eli-verveine is a musical chameleon who can do it all from banging peak time sets to pensive warm-ups via weird and wonderful hour hours sessions. She has proven that over the years in many of the scene's most cultured clubs whether playing solo, B2B as Among Trees with Andrey Pushkarev or live with Gwenan as Gin & Tonic. On top of all this, she has a well-formed discography that delves further into her versatile sounds.

This week's mix reflects her musical malleability as she draws on plenty of diverse tempos and textures to craft a lively trip. There are moments of blissful deepness next to more nuanced rhythms, futuristic bass explorations and cosmic electro sojourns that keep things moving at pace, but always with great control and expert selections.
