To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

The Labyrinthの20周年を記念して、過去10年間を振り返り、それぞれの年からひとつのミックスをピックアップすることにしました。イベントの歴史を記録すると同時に、過去10年間のアンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの歴史的なスナップショットを提供します。今聞いても色褪せない、タイムレスな極上のミックスをお楽しみください。

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

Jane Fitz, one of rural regulars and a staple of its history, took the stage for two B2B sets on both stages this year.

Jane's choice to share a booth with AKIRAM EN, also a regular at rural, on the first day of the event brought together a large crowd of music lovers for a rare B2B experience that lasted four hours of deep groove sessions from late into the night until dawn. Enjoy this obscure mix set, that the two skilled selectors who have been described as “DJ's  DJ” have produced.

For the next Far Blue concept, we have Kyiv based artist Vera Logdanidi who has put together her perception of Far Blue. Vera is a skilled producer, but also a beautiful storyteller with her sets. Someone who takes strong responsibility and initiative in the Ukranian underground electronic music scene with Rhythm Büro, which obviously faces big challenges during these difficult times. Traveling to international gigs isn't easy for her either:

"Since the nearest airport is 28 hours away from Kyiv, I have a lot of time for reflection and getting things done during my travels, often in trains or during stops. I recorded this mix in Budapest during a short layover. This mix isn’t about perfectionism, but rather about the mood, embracing the moment, and enjoying the journey. Let this music be the soundtrack to your days and the events they bring"

We feel honored an inspiring artist and person like Vera took the time to craft her interpretation of Far Blue for us, and we're excited to share it with you here.

Good friend and constant source of inspiration Alex Albrecht, joined me to celebrate my 300th episode of Passing Notes.

Few artists channel a consistent stream of creativity like Alex Albrecht. With over a decade of music-making under his belt, Alex has cultivated a distinct and frankly iconic musical identity. Effortlessly shapeshifting between experimental jazz, ambient, atmospheric house, and deep techno, Alex’s compositions are marked by an environmental undertone that imbues them with a uniquely “Alex Albrecht” earthly sense of place. Simultaneously anchoring and weightless, the common thread between it all is Alex’s ability to leave listeners safely ensconced in a swell of emotional resonance.

Improvisation and exploration are at the heart of Albrecht’s craft. His constantly evolving and captivating live performances have taken him to far corners of the globe, with appearances at iconic venues like Bassiani in Georgia, Monument in Norway, and Vent in Tokyo just to name a few. Each journey fuels his exploratory nature, offering new opportunities to immerse himself in the world around him. Field recordings serve as an auditory journal—postcards sent home to evoke memories of space and place that form the ever-important foundation of his creative process. These recordings provide a naturalistic canvas upon which Alex layers syncopated rhythmic subtleties and soaring, colorful synthetic brushstrokes.

With a rich discography amassing on celebrated labels such as A Strangely Isolated Place, Constellation Tatsu, Apollo, Scissor & Thread, and his own Analogue Attic Recordings—also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year—Albrecht’s work reflects a steadfast commitment to artistic authenticity and a depth of accrued knowledge now expressed through a craft so refined that oft feels effortless.

It was an honour to have Alex performing LIVE in the studio to celebrate this milestone together and share in his music that will continue to inspire us all.

Rev Lon is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist and the co-founder and curator of the Slow Burn mix and event series. Renowned for her deep, dubby mixes, she seamlessly blends genres like ambient, minimal, microhouse, and dub techno, crafting introspective sonic journeys that dissolve boundaries and invite a kind of still, inward motion. Her selections don’t demand attention — they unfold slowly, pulling you deeper with each subtle shift. For the 30th entry in the Discos Movimiento mixtape series, Rev Lon delivers a mix that feels less like a destination and more like a quiet, extended moment of clarity.

"Unlike the other daytime curators, Lena Willikens chose to open La Sucrière's impressive main hall on Friday, playing alongside her usual back-to-back partner Vladimir Ivkovic. The two looked relaxed behind the decks, swaying, smoking and sometimes smiling. The crowd, less dense than during the other headliners due to the early start, were also in a good mood, using the extra space to feel out each beat of the slower selections. Much of the two hours felt like existing in the lagging moment of a sci-fi movie, just before a spaceship launches into warp speed (in a good way, I promise)."

Willikens & Ivkovic live at Nuits Sonores June 1st 2019

@janefitz and I really do enjoy doing our B2B sessions. There's a scant amount of planning that goes in to these other than maybe an overarching idea of what we want to start and end with, and maybe a couple Discogs links for reference points mixed in. But that is literally it. We trust each other, and we're confident we can do it, and do it damn well. As always, she's on the audiences' right, I'm on the left, and we go one-for-one the entire time. No escape!!

This recording from October of 2019 at OHM in Berlin is her and I opening the party from zero and doing six hours of tension building hypnotics. Many thanks to the @patternsofperception crew for allowing us to do this, and for letting us use the Rane 2016 even though you've never touched one before.
