Welcome back to the Gated podcast just in time for Autumn. 
This time we have a real treat for you with our guest Mark Shephard.
Mark honed his DJ skills in the clubs and basements of Brooklyn before relocating to Tokyo in 2022. Currently he was an organizer of the Acid Gakkou party in Shibuya, frequent guest DJ at Circus Tokyo for the Ensite series of parties, and performed live regularly in Tokyo with hardware drum machines and synthesizers. He’s now established himself in a move to Berlin alongside partner and previous esteemed guest on the Gated Pod, MuHe.
We grabbed Mark for a little bit of a catchup and thoughts behind the mix.

“I’ve been getting settled in Berlin these past months, really enjoying running in the abundant parks and getting some crash German education. Music wise, I’m very into electro and acid house recently, particularly the new releases from Tom Carruthers and Legowelt on L.I.E.S. and from Ninechecker on brokntoys. My idea for this podcast was to play with different broken rhythms at a wide spread of tempos, with some recurring IDM melancholy in the chords and melodies. Cheers!”

This is just bonkers. The ultimate version - some kind of tiki-tinged ketamin tropico cover-version of Donna Summer's epic classic. This record is invisible and probably one of the most in demand records you could possibly showcase. It’s not a bootleg or anything like that, it’s actually from the early 1980s and it’s from Asia. Cover is also nuts with golden foil embossing. This is for sure one of the craziest if not the best of all Donna Summer covers I’ve ever heard.

Otro asturiano ilustre se incorpora a la familia dancetera, y por la puerta grande, Alex Ohmios se ha cascado un sesionón de mas de dos horazas de ítalo disco y ochenterismos buenos, con algún que otro clásico y perlas que revientan Discogs.
Alex colabora con la promotora asturiana Pure Works, pinchando en alguno de sus saraos.
Junto a la sesión que hizo el maestro Flemming Dalum para Dancetería, este es el mejor viaje italero que ha recalado en la serie.
