Young talents are always welcome in our spaceship, Italian producer Pyramidal Decode has been making big waves on the scene lately with recordings released in labels such as Jeff Mills’ Axis Records amongst many others. His tunes have been constantly played by key dj’s worldwide and now it’s time to have him on command.
 
Relentless and precise techno is his speciality either with a 4/4 base or using broken rhythms. For his debut he is providing us with a 50/50 selection of hypnosis and breaks, starting with A1a an ever growing mental techno exercise using percussive elements combined with different kinds of noises and bleeps.
 
Fara is liquid and floaty, almost dubby, using elastic drum sounds and tensioned synth elements to create a track for the mind and the body.
 
Irrational goes deep and low, reverberated and glorious, like a techno track played inside a cathedral. Perfect to create atmosphere on the peak time of a proper club facility.
 
On Research the approach is direct and mental using flanged synth lines over a synthetic groove, constantly evolving and changing in shape but keeping hypnosis as a statement.
 
Similar Function returns to broken beats and density providing the experimental slice on this EP the kind of track you would play for an experienced audience.
 
Sospensione relies again on continuous effected sequences with a minimalistic approach using a few elements wisely to create the desired effect.
 
Taj is the last tune saying goodbye in an epic mood as we felt on Irrational, hyper reverberated techno for big spaces combining atmosphere with tension properly.

Originally from Ukraine but raised in the Netherlands, Illiya Korniyenko’s rise through the European hard techno scene has been a relentless and fast paced affair, akin to his music.

Heavily inspired by the quintessential sound which characterised hard techno in the early to mid 2000s, Illiya’s productions present driving, mechanical and saturated grooves within the framework of modern industrial techno. The juxtaposition between the past and present are evident in his workflow, utilising classic hardware such as Roland’s 303 and Mackie mixers to carve his own unique sound, often recognisable by warm, analogue laced drums and chaotic acid leads.

The track selection in his DJ sets often includes his own productions in addition to self-mastered revisions of older tracks. Illiya’s signature sound, composed of intense yet carefully woven elements, is achieved by his enormous attention to detail, evident in both his tracks and sets.
 
This phenomenon has allowed him to make his mark in some of Europe’s major raves, where he has erupted energy upon Dutch parties such as Intercell, Basis and Courtoisy in addition to international slots at festivals such as Extrema Belgium.
