For its eighth release Griffé welcomes Rambal Cochet aka Volta Cab. The prolific electronic producer has been on the circuit for more than ten years and has explored a wide musical spectrum: from house to techno and new wave to electro. More recently his productions have taken a more progressive & trancey turn. On "Unknown Pharmacy" the producer is blending some trancey dancefloor weapons (Pharmacom & Muscle Fields) with crazy breaks (Autismo1) and a downtempo track (Underworld) to close the record in a calmer note. The interesting U’re Guay Records brings to life its Vol. 39 presenting Addi de la Cruz aka Umvral (FREEDL018/046), owner of the dangerous and lethal Mexican label Veneno. Hailing from Mexico City, Umvral has been steadily developing quite a solid work as A&R, DJ, and producer, having achieved both local and international recognition not only because of his undeniable talent but also charisma and competence. His works have already appeared on some of the most respected imprints of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene such as Bonkers, Controlla, Logia, Emerald & Doreen, Quixotical, and his very own Veneno, for instance.

For his debut on the Montevideo-based platform, Addi decided to explore his Trance and Techno influences delivering two fat & smelly peak-time originals. On the remixes duties, Aleito, Cu Da Curuxa, and Parallel (SXDNS319) brought their own traits to the party.

Premiered here, “Viva La Trance” is definitely that kind of track that is devoted to wreaking havoc on the dance floor. Its acid and frenzied atmosphere is mainly established by throbbing and nervous synth layers topped with bleepy and playful laser-like sound effects. Yes, the 134-BPM pace helps a lot to set the mood!

The latest EP from Utrecht, Netherlands-based electronic producer, Tifra, comes courtesy of St. Petersburg-based label, Snippets. The Mesoamerica EP serves as the first vinyl release for this budding label. Tifra wrote and produced 3 original tracks for the EP, “Mesoamerica”, “Lockdown Movement”, and “Mount Qaf”, two of which receive remixes from rising DJs and label-mates, Marco Lazovic and Ksky, to round out the release.

Track A2 of the EP, “Lockdown Movement”, is a propulsive, magnetic slice of deep house. This track runs like an extremely well-oiled machine, with its opening hit-hats and dramatic, punchy acid-lines cleanly seguing into a gorgeous, chopped-up acid-house odyssey. With multiple breaks and a bevvy of sonic experimentation throughout its generous 7 minute runtime, including a ticker-like synth-rhythm and distorted police sirens, the track never seems to lose its sense of momentum, nor its laser-like focus on satisfying your desire to move your body, whether at home or on a dance-floor.

French label and duo Politics Of Dancing return with their POD Cross EP release and this time around they have combined with another two top artists. Having already linked up with Djebali, D’Julz, Cab Drivers and Okain to name just a few they now add Djoko and Lowris to their growing list of collaborators. "This mix reflects back on the past year of personal releases, including tracks from the ‘Beneath the Surface Remixed’ EPs and my entry for the Monkeytown 10 Year Anniversary Compilation. In keeping with the Mesh theme, a collaboration between myself and Max Cooper (that could be seen as the start of my journey to this label) sits alongside music that’s inspired me throughout the lockdown period. From abstract and ambient to driving, epic techno, I had these tunes turned up loud in the studio and imagined what it would feel like to play this set in a club.
