Honestly, this mostly exists because shuffling music that I made helps me to focus. I guess it's just the right level of both familiarity and fitting my music taste. I only made this public because there's enough on my account that I felt like someone MIGHT want to listen in order or shuffle my stuff.

So...my first upload. And it's a Track 71. Cool.
...well, sort of. The Undying, the fanfiction series that inspired this, takes place in the aftermath of a failed no mercy route where the human was stopped by Undyne the Undying, and she and the other surviving monsters are left to pick up the pieces. It's really great and you should read it, but doesn't follow the structure of Undertale; as such, this isn't really a Track 71 replacement so much as a track inspired by the fic in the style of Track 71. Make sense? Sort of? Good.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday! This will not be a recurring holiday, to be clear. Also, hey. An actual AU of mine gets a track. Nice.

Mirrored Edge is my take on Fellswap or Swapfell...whichever is more correct. I'm honestly not sure which is more accurate, despite knowing the difference. It takes significant inspiration from the traditional Underswap roles--with a few twists, of course, plus the requisite dash of Fell. It tells the story of Chara, a human who stumbles upon a strange house of mirrors while lost in the woods…

In place of Waterfall is a massive abandoned facility: Asterisk Labs, which used to be the hub of scientific advancement in the Underground before all the scientists strangely disappeared one day. (All except one, that is. He was on an extended lunch break at the time.) Rumor has it a rogue AI killed the scientists, subsequently locking down the facility and turning it into a death trap. Those rumors are completely baseless, of course, but what else could explain so many disappearances? (Yes, this area is heavily inspired by the Portal games. Yes, Alphys is GLaDOS. No, I will not be taking criticism on this.)

An unknown, mysterious voice takes the role of Undyne. Upon entering the facility, Chara is greeted by upbeat, pre-recorded messages that guide them through a series of challenges intended to prepare them for... something. Though...if the messages were pre-recorded, why does the voice sound so nervous?

This track replaces both Waterfall and Run! because, in a theoretical game, it would fade from the version in the first half to that in the second when Chara is suddenly thrust into intense testing situations. I uploaded them as one track because I like the transition. This will happen again.

Welcome to "Purposely Generic," one of the Aftergore server's sixteen thousand self-insert AUs whose other roles I don't remember and whose title I came up with as I was uploading this track! As the title may suggest, this one's gimmick is, uh...being purposely generic.

The Mettaton replacement is rather generic indeed. Enter the Rad Ranger, a red-coat-wearing TV star android representing...well, me! Red! The primary difference here is that this robot is an anime protagonist instead of a general TV star, battling the Frisk role throughout a theme park based on his IP. He acts like a hero while on camera, failing with grace, but if he catches the human behind the scenes, he'll have some choice words for them. (No swear words, though--it's in the contract. His publisher is very concerned about the show's family-friendly image, even off-camera.)

This track was created for the Secret Snowpoff Swag Swap, a holiday gift exchange in a small UTDR server that I don't think has an open invite at the moment. Sad. This track was based on the delightfully broad prompt, "Anything involving the UTDR kids is good for me!" So I decided to make a track about the DR kids in the style of my favorite track about the UT kids. This was a lot of fun to make, and I really like how it turned out.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, all! Even if you don't celebrate anything today and/or don't have the day off, I hope you have a good day regardless. Last Christmas, I gave you my h--*ahem* I put up some cool IRL self-insert tracks; that's not abandoned, but this year I've decided to commemorate the occasion with presents to honor cool Internet people instead! I've got a good few of these coming, though not as many as I initially planned...I'm no DashingToadie, after all.

These presents include my very first covers, like this! This almost wasn't my first, actually, and technically isn't in order of when I made them...but let's save that for tomorrow. I felt like this track would be a good choice to celebrate Christmas Day, and I hope everyone reading this feels loved today--even if it's not Christmas when you're reading it. I've always loved this track from Genericophony, both for the title and for the use of motifs and for the impeccable vibes all around...I decided to go for a bit of an alternate take, though. I think it turned out well!

For my next number...*checks notes* oh. Oh no.

This was originally going to be my first released cover ever, and it WAS made first...but then I decided I wanted to start this event on Christmas rather than ending it there, and this no longer felt like the strong opener it did before. So now it ends up like this. This is probably okay.

Anyway, this track was made by the incomparable Myttin., who has been someone I've greatly admired ever since he left that one-word comment on the third track I ever released. It might be a little parasocial at this point, to be honest, but I think of him as a friend. I hope he's doing okay in the void or wherever he is now. (I heard he aced the audition for a minor role in the new Aftergore 404? So he's got that going for him.)

I've honestly been thinking about covering this track for a long time. It's just such an emotional track and scene that doesn't really compare to anything in...any other AU's murder route. In fact, the original version of this thumbnail (albeit one without the backdrop in such disrepair) was made nearly a year and a half ago. I emailed it to Myttin and he emailed back that it was cool, which was another highlight of our long and storied history. You know, I probably could've stood to email him before giving him that small role in Argenomess. (Myttin, if you're reading this, you're Jerry there. I figured it fit, and you would probably be okay with the role because you found him interesting enough to keep in your AU.)

Context for the thumbnail, by the way: My interpretation of the Surface replacing Snowdin in Smorgasbord explains it as an artificial recreation, complete with taped-up background elements and a giant lightbulb sun. It's a lot more convincing when the people who maintain the illusion aren't busy fleeing in terror from a murderous protagonist.

Oh yeah, and I thought the repeated arpeggio sounded like part of Oh! One True Love, which I thought was appropriate. So I changed it a bit at a later part, and now it's intentional.

Little late, but here's the third installment in my Christmas special series! This one was made for @its_puffle, who is cool and fun to be around and RP with. A few years ago she made a couple tracks for a crossover AU with the indie horror game Ib, with Mary from that game taking the Papyrus role. Since then, a remake has been released with a reworked version of "Puppet," Mary's theme. Her motif has changed, so I thought a fun thing to do would be to rework these tracks using the new melody! Also, yes these count as one track even though I uploaded them separately for later convenience. Shush.

Painting You Red [A Mary (Ib) Bonetrousle] (CHRISTMAS SPECIAL 3.5/6)

I made this one for @user-359325599, a friend I met in a Homestuck RP server that she's since left and that I don't really participate in much anymore. Given that we don't have that in common anymore, I'm pleasantly surprised by how much we just...interact anyway. This is partly because I got into the habit of sending her a lot of my creations, and partly because...our conversations are just, fun. 

Anyway yeah she's cool so I made this theme for Ehryka Makhez, a character that she played in the aforementioned RP server. I think I got the vibes about right. She's a tired revolutionary who wears special disguising glasses to hide the fact that she has powerful psionics...because the government tends to use people like that as batteries. (Troll planet is kind of messed up, man.) She met my character while he was working at the librar--sorry, BOOKHIVE, and they immediately ended up breaking several rules because both of them were freedom of information enjoyers and also Mapsec (mine) fell down some stairs.

This is probably the track in this event that I messed with the most before settling on a final product; originally it had a fairly different vibe to start with, and the lead instrument was acoustic guitar (because she wants to stay "unplugged," get it? it's genius). I decided I didn't like how it sounded and went with this flute thing instead. I knew from the start I wanted it to go from sounding lowkey and tired to being sort of revolution-battle-adventurous with the same/similar motifs, though. (I just kind of didn't get that right initially.)

[Character Theme] Behind The Glass (CHRISTMAS SPECIAL 4/6)

This one's for you, @user-255285003! While not one of my closest friends, I have it on good authority that L is a pretty swell, stand-up guy. I'd say more, but he doesn't like compliments. I will say I enjoy being around him, though, and of all the people in the group chat I wanted to make a bunch of tracks for as part of this event (I did not end up with that many) his was the easiest idea for me to come up with, so! Here it is!

Argenomon is a self-insert Pokemon AU about the members and culture of @slick_silver's Argenoverse Discord server. Slick just popped up and dumped a bunch of information on us about it one day, which prompted me to change my nickname there to "Professor Redwood" for the next several months. (Guess what role I take in the AU. Go on. Guess.)

Here's what Slick had to say about L's role:
"L: The winged motivational speaker and youth coach who resides in Teesos Town, a treetop village. Specializes in the Fairy type. Though he has many strong Pokemon at his disposal from years of training, he volunteered to be placed earlier in the League so that he could spend his time training and motivating weaker trainers."

In my interpretation, when the champion was establishing the Pokemon League in the region where Argenomon Silver/Gold/Metal takes place, Teesos Town was simply too small to have any vacant buildings that would work. Refusing to trouble the townsfolk to build something new--or worse, give up some existing establishment--L got to work building a ropes course in the trees high above. Most of the resources used were for nets and other safety features like patrolling flying Pokemon, but in the end L ended up making a more "L-ish" gym than anyone could have built conventionally. Onward and upward!
