Electrik Cake With Coco Street 0165 - BRUK N' JAZZ 10212024.  There were so many goodies over on Traxsource, I could scarcely select within my budget!  Be on the lookout for some choice slices from Mikki Afflick, Rachel Mc Donald, Angela Johnson (My favorite soprano) AND, somewhere in the mixture, you might here a little debut from myself and DaSoul!  DO pay particular attention to our SLICE OF THE WEEK, and take a special listen to the Bruk N' Jazz preserves mixed up in there.  I even loves one track so much, I played it TWICE!! 

I have paid less attention to mixing in traditional consonance, opting instead for "friendly dissonance."  My life has been fraught with friendly dissonance lately as God continues to stretch me and build me up into the best lady I can be - never without bumps and hiccups, right?  Broken beat, by its very description is totally matching my life right now, matching up well with the calculated risks and serendipitous happenstances of Jazz.  But I press on.

Brooklyn BeatDown Music is a label whose main focus is upbeat and hard-hitting, underground Brooklyn-style house music -- where the beat is the driving factor.  

In addition, the label, formed by DJ Renay (known for her ability to discover good music and creative captivating mixes which are currently in rotation on various stations, nationally and internationally), will be a vehicle for talented producers who dare to go beyond the norm. Hailing from the city of Los Angeles, Coco Street exemplifies dance music creativity with her original style and a knack for artistic flair in songwriting that captures the listener in the first moments of her tracks. 

As a multi-talented vocalist, percussionist, and songwriter, Coco is also known for her contribution to musical theatre, including several outings at venues like the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. 

Currently, Coco is co-owner of dance music digital imprint label Nu Soul Records with Grammy Nominee and house music veteran Eddie Amador.
