Ben Long and Jamie Bissmire formed Space DJz  in 1995 with their 1st musical outing - On Manoeuvres in uncharted Territories   this was released on the sub label of Creation Records  called Infonet Recordings. The highlight of this EP was the seminal electro track Celestial Funk.

During the course of a 25 year career the DJz have put out over 60 Ep’s , 2  full length Album’s  3 mix Cd’s and over 40 remix’s featuring on labels such as Novamute , Soma , BEK Audio , PercTrax , Kombination Research , Driving Force , Beardman , Phobiq , Sinewave and many many others.

As the first Techno partnership to ever DJ on 4  turntable’s and 2 mixers spawning many a copycat act they have taken their sound across the globe , very few  countries have not witnessed the unique style ,  knowledge and musical attitude that only Ben Long & Jamie Bissmrie can deliver behind the decks and  on the dance floor . Touring Australia and Asia 9 times , South America , USA , Russia , Japan , New Zealand and countless of the big Festivals and Raves across the European circuit.

We are delighted to feature Belfast native Nez to our Mixtape series. Anyone who is into the Irish techno scene knows that Nez needs no introduction.

Nez is an obsessive vinyl collector, DJ and lover of all genres of electronic music specializing in techno, electro, acid and jungle. He started djing around the Belfast scene in 1998 and earned himself his first resident DJ spot at the Evolution nights in the legendary Vico’s Club.  Since then he has co-promoted De-Vice in Leeds, Grub with Boxctutter, Pressure, Scope, Beat BBQ and held down a residency DSNT for 10 years and is a regular performer for AVA Festival, played all the major clubs up and down Ireland and has djed all over Europe sharing the stage warming up for a who's who of electronic music, too many names to mention.  
The highlights of his career so far was playing a set for the infamous AVA Boiler Room and a closing set in Tresor Berlin.  Currently he is co promoter of a new night Coda  and is label boss Computer Controlled.

A well known face in our clubs for well over 20 years now both DJing and on nights out, for those of you from Belfast, Blark (AKA Blacky) shouldn't really need any introduction. As one of our residents, I can't believe it's taken us until number 12 in the series to get a mix out of him, considering he's never off the decks.

As usual from Blark, expect full pace, smooth mixing and plenty of WEAPPAAANNNNNS!

It’s somehow taken 14 shows but we’ve finally got a mix out from each of our residents on the podcast. You may know him as half of Cave DJz with partner in crime Blark or more recently as Crock but our last resident to do the honours for us is Cricky Lyttle. Not one to just mix one track into the other, Cricky is known for having a bit of fun behind the decks to inject a some excitement into the mix - whether it’s a bit of beat juggling, mixing on 3 or 4 decks or even a bit of scratching (some even say he uses a Reebok Classic!) - and this set has all of the above (minus the footwear!)
Mixed on 4 CDJs and a Xone 92 and not a sync button in sight, this mix is packed full of tasty fresh techno - so get your lugs wrapped around this for the next hour! Enjoy!

Working his craft for many years now, this Dutch Techno phenomenon was already there in the early days. Making his way through the Amsterdam nightlife, where he witnessed the euphoria in famous clubs like RoXY and iT, he discovered his love for pure Techno music. 

Even though Ritzi Lee was already spinning records for a couple of years, now a bigger audience noticed his talent. A flawless technique and recognizable straight Techno sound made him one of Techno music’s underground stars – things started to roll.

Especially when the Dutchman launched his Underground Liberation imprint, where he’d be releasing some of the most successful Techno tracks, Ritzi Lee became a household name in the international scene.

He was omnipresent throughout the 00s, playing the largest festivals, performing at Awakenings, doing club gigs supporting DJs  like Jeff Mills and Ben Sims, playing ADE on Dave Clarke’s night, gaining fans everywhere. A solid repution he’s kept until today.

Definitely something noteworthy, with a career that started in the late 90s, up to this day Ritzi Lee has stayed true to the unpolished techno music he fell in love with. Just listen to his 2013 release The Next Genesis, still being played by the majority of the Techno scene, or check out his releases at Ben Sims’ label Theory Recordings, these are the tracks that define him as one of the Techno originators of this new decade.

DJs like Luke Slater, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock still play Ritzi Lee’s productions. No doubt it’s the result of the Dutchman always staying true to his own ideas.

So, this is an artist not afraid to go back to the source, getting inspiration from Detroit to Tresor, while always renewing and finetuning his music. Perhaps difficult to pinpoint from a distance but, as said before, it’s all about the experience. Being there at the right moment, when music, venue and DJ fall into place.

That’s only half the story. Ritzi Lee is about to unleash more of his trademark productions on labels like Klockworks, MORD, BEK audio. Things have never been more exciting, and that’s something after an already more than impressive career – Ritzi Lee is just getting started.
