I recorded this song after reflecting on a trip I made to China a few years ago.  Looking across Victoria Harbour from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island, you can see the city light up as the sun sets.

This recording is also the first in an experiment to change the way I work.  I have relied heavily on the Roland TR-series drum machines for a long time, and I wondered what it would be like if I limited myself to using a maximum of one of them.  My old friend, the 808, is taking a vacation for now.

OFDM has been a major player in the electronic music scene in the Pacific Northwest since the early 90, first as a promoter of well-remembered events and later as a DJ and owner of a ‚techno only‚ management company by the name of Rising Sun Management. In 1996 Jeffrey decided to shift his focus from ‚massive events and focus on his budding professional career. His last party, Future Soul Festival, will ever be remembered as a truly legendary event. In true renegade fashion, the party was shut down at 3am and began again at 6am. Unable to stay away, Jeffrey continued producing and curating on a much smaller scale, founding the very successful Sundazed park parties that flourished from 1996-2004 with up to 8 events every summer in local Seattle parks while also establishing the selective, family style New Dawn renegade events in the woods of the Pacific Northwest.

In 1997 Jeffrey founded the FTF Collective, which produced fondly remembered parties and helped to launch the careers of several DJs of the time. Jeffrey, through Rising Sun Management, promoted and booked many well known and successful DJs, the likes of Disco D, Forest Green, Stewart Walker and many others. Jeffrey assumed a short role as manager/agent of Ryko recording artist Freezpop and planned a small tour called Monsters of Electropop.

With more than 15 years behind the decks, Jeffrey has established a refined palate for high quality, intelligent electronic music. With an emphasis on sexy Tech House, Nu-Disco, Deep House and Techno, Jeffrey can always be looked to for the most current and tasteful tracks. Over the last 2 years in 2011-2012 OFDM played alongside  or with some of the biggest names in deep house, techno and nu disco, including MANIK, Safeword, Pezzner, Voices of Black, Sergio Santos, Hanssen, Codebase, Lazaro Casanova, Zev ( wolf + lamb ), Xan Lucero, J. Alverez, Tanner Ross, and pillowtalk. 2012 looks even bigger as he continues on his mission of playing music he loves, where he loves, for people he loves.

Chad Mitchell’s dance music roots began in the underground culture of NYC. In ’92 he moved west to Buffalo, where he brought his influence and experience to the local music scene. In ’94, he and JP Soul began hosting parties and Djing in the dance music scene in Western New York. 
In Buffalo, he along with JP Soul held a residency for 2 years at the first weekly house music club in the area. Along with his residency, he co-hosted many large-scale events in Upstate New York. His notoriety spread and led to bookings North to Toronto as well as deep into Ohio and throughout Western NY. 

After gaining his Bachelor of Science from the University of Buffalo, he went west to San Francisco. Chad accepted a residency at Liquid, one of SF’s infamous nightspots where he rocked the decks every Friday night for almost 5 years. In addition to playing throughout San Francisco, he has also traveled to play in US cities such as Chicago, Seattle, and San Diego as well as internationally in Vancouver, BC and Mexico. 
In San Francisco, Chad Mitchell founded Roam Recordings. He and JP Soul run this local record label to further promote their sound by publishing their original works as well as their peers’. Roam Recordings has featured releases from such world-renowned artists as Justin Martin, Lance Desardi, Tasho, Demarkus Lewis, Rhythm Plate and Brett Johnson.

Chad Mitchell has had original works released on Roam Recordings as well as on Republika, G-Deep and MDEX.Chad has also released a variety of mix’s, with a wide range of styles.You can check some of them out here on Soundcloud.

Indie Dance, Dark Disco, Cosmic, Psychedelic, Italo

Jason Peters is a DJ/Producer and the label boss of Roam Recordings. Over the last decade he and his label’s output have been at the forefront of the indie dance/dark disco movement. While his music centers around 80s italo, 90s rave, and contemporary indie dance and dark disco, you will also hear rare disco, psychedelic techno, and early house. 

Jason Peters is also a long time staple of the San Francisco dance music community where he plays regularly for some of SF’s more discerning clubs and promoters such as Sunset Sound System, Monarch, The Great Northern, and F8. On Jason Peters’ travels outside of the Bay Area he has played events such as SundaySunday, CRSSD festival, Block 9 at Glastonbury, Red Light Radio, Kater Blau, and the Alfresco festival.

Ransom Note puts it best: “Just like Jason's own productions, which also appear on the label, the music is dark and hypnotic, cosmic and driving - sounds that'll take you down a wormhole. There are a lot of labels and artists treading similar terrain these days, but Jason was spearheading this new wave of exciting and unique dance music a long time ago."
