And it's been a minute but I'm very happy to say we're back and what a way to return!

The Codename: RCRDS Show on Jungletrain - Microcosm Guest Mix 27/1/24

Over the Christmas 2021 break I made (for fun) a Jungle D&B bootleg of one of my favourite film soundtracks.

This time it was the epic strings and choir part that lured James Bond into the Aztec Pyramid before Bond and the villainous Hugo Drax blast off into space. In classic Jungle fashion I've layered an amen break and sub-bass over the strings and choir. Then a selection of spoken and FX samples liberally sprinkled over the top. A short interlude of Bond style brass before the strings return for the second half.

Updated for 2024 to correct some iffy bass notes

With releases on labels such as Soul Deep, Omni Music, Liquid Drops and his own imprint Codename: RCRDS, Moakz's debut album 'The Critical Path', showcases the artist's 'cinematic jungle' sound in full length for the first time, drawing on influences as diverse as film scores, soul, jazz, post-rock and techno for a warm, deep and often emotional take on drum and bass / drumfunk. The album releases on double 12" vinyl and digital on 6th June 2025. 


Moakz chose Omni Trio as the artist for his mix selection as follows - "Rob Haigh's music has had a massive influence on me since my teenage years, and it was really enjoyable putting this mix together.  I'm a huge fan of his work, and digging once again through his deep back catalogue it reminded me that there really is no such thing as a bad Omni Trio tune.  So many timeless tunes - I hope people enjoy this mix".
