Welcome to my favorite tracks of August 2018.

Every playlist contains my favorite 40 tracks of this month, they are not ranked because they are listed like I would play them in a set.

In August I had my first contact with NiQW from Finland, and his new EP with "How's That" and "Intro" totally blew my mind. Then I saw that I already knew him before with Jay Robinson's collab with him in "Right Back".
But "Intro" takes the first place this month.

M.E.G. & N.E.R.A.K. have had nothing short of a monumental 2015, with their Wall Recordings single ‘Concorde’ becoming a set staple all throughout Winter Music Conference, Coachella, and Tomorrowland.

Reuniting after ‘Party People’ and their remix of Afrojack’s ‘SummerThing!’, Shapov and M.E.G. & N.E.R.A.K. continue to advance their Russian twist on dance music, refusing to play it safe.

HoTL Records shows no sign of slowing down to end their momentous year, giving David Tort’s classic ‘Lost In Acid’ the remix treatment from Abel Ramos, Henrix & Digital Lab, DJ Mara & Sebastian Ledher and DJ Diass.

The original mix previously smashed Beatport charts, and has been remastered to pull the classic record into 2015. Abel Ramos takes the acid inspiration of the original record and reconstructs it into an relentless mainstage weapon, the intertwining bass and topline synth surging with energy. No strangers to successful collaborations, Henrix & Digital Lab’s deceiving intro makes way for a monstrously resonant bass, staggered perfectly between pounding kicks.

DJ Mara & Sebastian Ledher take their remix down an alternative route, the classic house stabs and pads of the original complemented by intricate percussive rhythms. The standout package is completed by Bulgaria’s DJ Diass, the rolling hi-hats pushing the track forwards alongside a now trademark groove-laden bassline.

David Tort is one of the most influential Spanish artists in the electronic music scene thanks to his studio work and powerful DJ sets around the world. David is a regular fixture in the Miami club scene, and his dynamic style and technical ability has taken him to festivals including Tomorrowland, Summerland and Summerburst. Now adding his own label to his already formidable résumé, David continues to go from strength to strength.

It was that belief that led @marcusschossow to begin the Code Red Music project in 2015. Based upon the concept of having talent meet talent, the label’s values as both an institution and record company were quickly acclaimed by many.

In Marcus’ words, “we wanted to create a place where our musical dreams can run wild”. A core value of this belief is to “speak to each other daily, seeking to help and assist wherever possible”. Not in the form of a constitution or set of rules, but creative freedom.

Code Red is focused on the musical journey and experience. Here, we value charts just as much as discovery. At the core of this journey is interaction. Through the shared vision of Marcus, our artists and our fans, we aspire to expand our quest for musical freedom and friendship.

Friendship is an important construct, and this involves you. Through interviews, tutorials and feedback sessions, we at Code Red want to hear your thoughts and help you improve your music. We want you to become part of this shared belief, and “have the options to create what we really want to do, without anyone telling us how”.
