Central Florida born & Raised. Growing up as a kid in Daytona  Beach, FL in the 1980's then a teenager in early 1990's, I was introduced to all different kinds of electronic beats. Daytona Beach was a Spring Break destination so hearing Miami Bass & Freestyle had me hooked at a young age. In 1997 I was a 16 yr old walking into rave clubs no problem in O-Town, Ybor, or bach home in Daytona going to Sol-Rays or 600N. & thus the introduction to Florida Breakz and different DJ's & Producer's. Back then we all know the struggle was real to find a dope cassette tape recording of a live DJ set from a local artist from Orlando, Tampa/Ybor, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami/Dade, or anywhere in between. Once the internet speeds came up it was easier to keep a 100 CD sleeve bag full of fire music. From 1999 - 2005 my ears constantly were ringing for days after a weekend kicking it at a party, club, or festival. My crew was in it for the Breaks & Electro, party favors came on strong in the early years, by the end we just got high on the beats and going to live performances. Memories full of explosive nights literally every weekend for the longest time it seemed. It was a magical time for the scene itself and more amazing for me getting involved at a young age. Over night I had new friends that had a common interests, passion and love of our style of music. Chilling at a boys spot or kicking it at your spot, someone was always moving a mouse and banging on keys, or everyone taking turns on the mixer and tables having fun! I will always remembering the 2 records I practiced on over n over just learning to match snare hits and trying my ass off to keep it riding out for a minute slamming. What got me hooked is actually watching a new homie I made in the scene twisting knobs, sliding faders, EQ'ing the shit outta his music and really producing proper tracks. I seen fully both sides of the world we lived. I quickly gained a new respect for the talent and skills all this young guys n gals my age were doing creating the music I still enjoy today almost 20 years later. I got into Electro naturally because of my first love, Miami Bass & Freestyle. When your 13 and screaming at the Skate City DJ filling in for Resident DJ thats AWOL and playing just garbage, I knew that I had a Bass Addiction to the 808. Dirty beats coming up I-95 from Ft. Lauderdale & Miami literally set my life on a crazy path and a love for all of what Florida offered in the music scene. No doubt about it, the new Electro coming out today is jaw dropping. When those kicks n boom drops have subwoofers pumped to the max and that quad knock is pulsing literally through your body, that is a feeling everyone needs to experience at least once in life... Agreed...lol...!!!
Viva La Electro

Code Rising is an American Electro duo that was formed in 2010 and consists of Matt Lancaster (South Carolina) and Ryan Phillips (South Florida). Over the years, Code Rising has shared the stage and worked with some of the biggest names in the Electro music scene; performing live mainly in Miami and the surrounding Florida coasts.

After a healthy line of digital releases on Monotone Records from 2010-2013, the duo saw the release of their first full-length CD "Dissemination Protocol" on their own label, Propulsion Recordings. 2021 saw the largest release from the duo yet; "A Spectral Odyssey" was released digitally via BandCamp with a whopping 18 track playlist. Accounting for original and collaborative work, the duo have more than several 12" EP releases in their catalogue. Most of the Code's discography can be found on Soundcloud and Bandcamp! I am just a HUGE music fan!!!  After hearing my first Florida breaks back in the middle to late 90's and then going to a Baby Anne show in Atlanta, I was hooked.  I love a little bit of it all, just depends on my mood as to what I want to hear.  If its too loud, you're too old......................................
