A mixtape that I have had going over in my head for the past 2 years. It wasn't until the recent resurgence in a Facebook group dedicated to the Edge nightclub in Ft Lauderdale, FL. that I got inspired to go back in the lab and finish it.

To the uninitiated, the Edge Nightclub is where I spent over 6 years of my life on a weekly basis. It was here that I grew up and learned that it was OK to be different and it was here that I learned that electronic dance music or EDM was the music that would define who I am.

Over the years many DJ's held residences in this nightclub. Among them were Bruce Wilcox, Dru, Stryke and Mike Sharpe. And it is because of them that I decided to try and learn their craft. For some the Edge was just another nightclub but for most of us it was HOME.While the Edge has changed names and management and is now known as Revolution, the Edge is what I will always remember it by.

This mix is my tribute to that time and place.

Exzakt’s first vinyl EP on Monotone since 2007 is a collection of various tracks that have not been on vinyl. These tracks were hand selected by fans out of 17 tunes to chose from. First we have Madrid Nights which has only been heard in Exzakt DJ sets and was a fan favorite that has often been requested for release but has not until now. This song is a deep look into Exzakt’s progression in his sound. This track explores many emotions through ever-changing soundscapes. A2 is an excellent remix of Larry McCormick’s Escape track which originally released on Datapunk in 2004. 214 completely dismantles the parts to make a unique composition that turns into a journey and it is perfectly fit for a proper vinyl release. The B starts with an Exzakt Classic that from the start screams to be heard on wax. Me & My 808 is a heavy, ripping tune that will service any dance floor. Last is an emotional piece that you can tell from the title, Love Hate. Again Exzakt goes deep on this one but still keeps the beat pumping like his tracks often do. This is another solid Exzakt Record that should be in any Electro Collectors record box.

Code Rising is an American Electro duo that was formed in 2010 and consists of Matt Lancaster (South Carolina) and Ryan Phillips (South Florida). Over the years, Code Rising has shared the stage and worked with some of the biggest names in the Electro music scene; performing live mainly in Miami and the surrounding Florida coasts.

After a healthy line of digital releases on Monotone Records from 2010-2013, the duo saw the release of their first full-length CD "Dissemination Protocol" on their own label, Propulsion Recordings. 2021 saw the largest release from the duo yet; "A Spectral Odyssey" was released digitally via BandCamp with a whopping 18 track playlist. Accounting for original and collaborative work, the duo have more than several 12" EP releases in their catalogue. Most of the Code's discography can be found on Soundcloud and Bandcamp!
