there is stolid persistence
adjucated by attachment,
by clinging to
the moments of
doubt.

bricks belong
and heed their master's
each and every indulgence:
dear, sweet, homely gravity!
while mere mortar may
dissolve and crumble

it won't be long.
it never is. ask the nymphs
and fauns and watcher spirits that
last. neural uniformity goes first
as mosses, fungi, viral, vital cells
demand their share and shed humility:
minerals to feed the masses, yearning
to be free. ugh, structures long
to breathe through the
