BSV: Hello broski! Such a pleasure to have you here. Welcome to the crew of visionaries!
PETER PORTMAN: Hi @beatsoundvisions team! Thanks for having me on this episode. Winter just kicked in, I brought you some tunes to warm up a little bit!

BSV: This recording is a “hell of a job”. Where on earth do you find these tracks?
PETER PORTMAN: Thanks for kind words, yes I do a lot of digging, from promo pools from email over listening tracks from the sets, I think the urge to discover new tunes keeps me digging deeper than usual, and after all this is our job, right? 

BSV: You had China tour at the end of September. How was that experience?
PETER PORTMAN: The China tour was really above expectations. Even though it was for their holidays where everyone traveled domestic, or international. I think I've managed to feel the true vibe of the country. Food was awesome too! Once again big thanks to my team Uros & Leo for making it happen!

BSV: Munich, Paris, London, New York… We dance… Which scene is your favourite?
PETER PORTMAN: Every scene has its own charm, really depends on the mood and also culture. Personally or from my point of view  however you want to call it... Letting loose without phones and enjoying the moment itself.

BSV: People that follow you know that you like to experiment with sound and that you are not limited by particular genre. Are you able to describe your frequencies?
PETER PORTMAN: Sometimes I do find it difficult explaining myself, really it's up to reading the room, the crowd, and the mood I am currently in. As I said above I try to listen to as much as possible a wide variety of the music (also non electronic) so I can try to bring together into one unique frequency.  I think you just need to have patience and to be there when magic happens.

BSV: The wonderkid of Serbian electronic music scene, can we call you like that?
PETER PORTMAN: /

BSV: Do you believe in magic while playing Romanian minimal? 
PETER PORTMAN: I think I don't see myself as a Rominimal DJ at all. I am A DJ, and  music in general is magic and it can be both healing or damaging.

MYR label head Goeran Meyer is back to kick off 2024 with a superb new track featuring Mario Navajo.

This German artist has long been quietly but assuredly carving out his niche in the electronic world. He fuses elements of house and techno with his own sublime synth craft and mostly does so on his own well-regarded label. For this one, he works with Mario Navajo, who is known for his deep, soulful approach to electronic music and a blend of deep and Afro styles.

The EP commences with a stellar instrumental edit of 'Boundless Chains,' unfolding gradually through a mysterious and percussive intro accompanied by finely tuned drums. Rich breaks pave the way for a gradual ascent with synth arps and driving kicks, making a moody atmosphere destined to captivate the dance floor.

The 'Boundless Chains' vocal edit, featuring the evocative vocals of Navajo, takes listeners on a deeply absorbing and widescreen journey. Mario's dark and moody vocals, reminiscent of the iconic Depeche Mode, seamlessly blend with deep bass tones, resulting in an emotional impact that transcends boundaries.

This EP serves as a testament to Meyer's multifaceted talents, showcasing his prowess as a live performer, DJ, and producer while underscoring his skills as a meticulous sound designer.
