Robert Miles - Children (K37 Symphony & Synth Remix)

This piece of music is an original composition I wrote about 12 years ago and for me is very important as it was the first real epic melody I wrote which I still believe is the best melodic idea I have ever had!!
I wrote the piece in inspiration based on my studies of the Apollo missions of which I went through a phase reading every book about and seeing every film, documentary and it is still an era that fascinates me! I even made the journey to Kennedy Space Centre more than once in Florida to soak up the atmosphere from this amazing human endeavour!!

I then read a book called A Man on the Moon, written by Andrew Chaikin which for me is still the definitive book about this subject and a lot of the subject matter dealt with the relationships that the Apollo astronauts had with their families, particularly their wife's. It later was turned into a superb mini series, produced by Tom Hanks called From here to the moon!

It got me thinking about the patience, fear, in some cases loss and death that these incredible woman had to endure and I wrote this poignant piece around this subject!

Anyway I have recorded a number of versions including an album version which can be found on my album:

By the way the enclosed picture is of the late great Alan Shepard the first American to go into space and the commander of Apollo 14. He was also the only man to play golf on the Moon. He is of course with his children and wife of 53 years, Louise!
