Every band you've ever been in, every song you've ever written was really just a way of beta testing what works and what doesn't work. Honing your sound as a musician. Well that's what Cold Blue Stars is, a combination of all those years rolled into one new and exciting band.

We are inspired by the people, places, and things of our past.  Whether they haunt us or keep us warm at night.  Whether they burn our hearts or hold our hands. 

We write songs about our exes.

She’s Kevin draws influences from some of music’s greatest female artists, including Amy Winehouse, Aaliyah, Erykah Badu, and Alicia Keys. Mixing the likes of modern-day R&B and soul, her aim is to make songs that will “not only make you feel good but also love stronger.”

Heclysma was a Manchester-based music project. Fascinated by retro and electronic music, Heclysma blended different music genres with the final aim of recreating chilled atmospheres and nostalgic memories. Heclysma appeared in several fortunate collaborations with other artists and was also involved in the music scoring of a retro indie game. The project ceased in 2022. Thus, no more songs are released or produced under this name.

Now in its tenth year, The Beast is an innovative and electrifying hip hop and jazz ensemble, known for pushing creative boundaries and dynamic collaborations. Straight outta Durham, the cultural and entrepreneurial nexus of a new south, The Beast is a home-grown artistic force, mixing tap-dancers, puppeteers, and spoken word artists into its repertoire.  Comprised of professor, community organizer, and emcee Pierce Freelon, keyboardist Eric Hirsh, drummer Stephen Coffman, and bassist Pete Kimosh, The Beast has thus far executed a Duke University-commissioned big band project, curated residencies at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and toured Panama as featured in a PBS web-series. The quartet has just finished its second full-length album, "Woke," with Philly-native producer/drummer Steve McKie (Bilal, Jill Scott, Musiq, et al).
