Amadeus sees it’s catalog graced yet again by New Zealand outfit Chaos In The CBD. The kiwi brothers, birthed Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales, are no new faces to the label, or the wide variety of genre-bending acronyms they encompass. Having recently relocated from tropical Auckland to damp London earlier this year, the two take their productions along with them in their latest efforts, 816 To Nunhead.

Title track and aside, “816 To Nunhead,” is tinged with what’s left of summer. A nostalgic tune built for the sun and soaked in funk. It’s a track reminiscent of early french disco, almost as if built for the two robots themselves. Guitar plucks and hi hats flow seamlessly throughout the tune, aided by a glorifying vocal, “I would like to think of my music as just an extension, an extension of me of today or whatever.” 

What emotion of freedom and escape evoked on the Aside can be contrasted on the flip, “78 To Stanley Bay,” a tune built behind the ever looming theme of loneliness. Accompanied by a live trumpet courtesy of Isaac Aesili, ’78 To Stanley Bay’ tells us a story, or rather a journey, built behind dirty hats and delayed keys. This is a track fashioned for everywhere but the club, and we absolutely love that.

“Monte La Musique” is the first single of Margot et Max, a new French Disco Boogie project with singer Margot Lafage (part of 100 Voices Of Gospel) and producer @saint-james(Discomatin / Chuwanaga)


Inspired by Bibi Flash, Agathe (Regrets) and even Paul Hardcastle, Margot et Max embrace their French Boogie heritage with this exciting song.

With funny lyrics, groovy synths, early electro beat, “Monte La Musique” is an ode to the clubbing scene and its dancers. With the sanitary crisis, what was born from frustration evolved into a joyful cry of love! Monte la Musique!

Chaos In The CBD put forward two intriguing, sensual and romantic tracks, aimed at audiophiles who celebrate their beauty and cherish their fantasies.

The Intimate Fantasy EP opens with the title track. A deep house cut with a groove like a single flower blooming in an endless desert. The drums are warm, comfortable and smooth and the track is decorated with irresistible guitar licks.

Flip the record over to find "Club Miyako", a cut that is alive with enchantment and rich with the thrill of the chase. An intoxicating bassline weaves through the pads and piano stabs to form a love potion of sweet temptation and sensuality.

Following the debut of the new French Boogie / Disco project Margot et Max, Parisian label Chuwanaga proudly presents a series of remixes of « Monte La Musique » by some of the most exciting French and international producers: Inkswel, Kelton Prima, DJ NoWay and Saint-James. Each one in his own style, offers a new take on this irresistible song with a panel of references going from downtempo jazzy hip-hop to ghetto house beats. Turn the music up!

DJ and producer Saint-James aka « Max » from Margot et Max and Chuwanaga drops an extended version of his own production, bringing the song into different harmonies, exploring the furthest nooks of the encapsulated 80’s era, still inspired by Latin Freestyle and Electro-Boogie.

Dan Kye is the mysteriously evoked moniker from multi-instrumentalist, producer, and vocal sensation Jordan Rakei. The New Zealand-born artist - who now resides in London - presents his first long-player from Dan Kye, ‘Small Moments’, on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section INTL. An ode to the dancefloor, the musical project was born out of Jordan’s lockdown experience, created from the comfort of his own home. 

Recorded with just a laptop, extra live instruments and guest musicians, ‘Small Moments’ seamlessly transcends across electronica, jazz and funk, with each genre being effortlessly fused with Jordan’s melancholy vocals. Allowing himself to push the boundaries, Jordan’s Dan Kye moniker draws on the energetic and uplifting elements of house and techno and perfectly mixes it with the sultry vocals and emotion that come with the live elements we know and love from Jordan Rakei. The record offers listeners a journey through more floor-heavy tracks such as ‘Mogeri’ and ‘Raro’ to more groove infused offerings such as ‘Rainbow Road’ (which is named after one of the maps in Mario Kart and inspired by the energy of Prince’s iconic live concert at The Aladdin in Las Vegas), whilst tracks, like ‘Sober’, take on a more lyrical and anthemic feel.
