French DJ and producer Bob The Groove returns to Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Some Seeds Of Love which comes backed up with the equally fantastic My Little Tree Of Paradise. BTG's debut on Bonzai was back in May 2016 with Eddy's Theme which proved popular among many and we've no doubt that this latest cut will follow suit.

Some Seed Of Love is a wonderfully lush and deep progressive groove that captures the imagination wonderfully. Nice and chunky kick drums lead the way deep rooted basses pulsate through the track. Tight drums and bright crispy hats deliver a solid rhythmic groove that will keep the floors moving for sure. A teasing acid line lurks around gliding effortlessly through the track as melodic pads sweep across. Top notch stuff that you do not want to miss. 

My Little Tree Of Paradise intros with a punchy kick drum that is joined by shuffling hats and a rising mesmeric arp. A musical bassline glides up and down the scale with fantastic note changes that add an extra dynamic to the sound. Cool percussions keep the rhythm moving becoming prominent on the break where we are treated to a fine display of melodic sounds before the beats kick back in for the duration. A definite must have no doubt.

Some Seeds Of Love

Belgian DJ and producer Karim Sghaier aka Karim S debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb Pilots Of The Millennium which features two tracks alongside two fantastic remixes. Karim started his musical career in the early 1990's singing and acting in theatre while also learning the piano and synthesizer, nourishing his love of music. He also began to buy his first records and shortly thereafter was inspired by Chicago house music, Detroit techno and Mayday. He started to DJ at many parties in his local area before breaking out and playing all over Belgium.

If you're looking for some serious progressive beats then Pilots Of The Millennium is for you. This one delivers the goods in style with a solid lush bass at its core. Right from the get go we are entranced with the groove as it draws us in with a superb bassline and intricate percussion patterns. A very subtle and simple melody from just a few notes is enough to pique your interest as we embark on this epic journey. Bubbling acid lines fade in as magical strings are introduced bringing a cosmic vibe to the sound. The break throws up a divine sequence with wonderfully hypnotic melodies climaxing in a kick drum roll before slamming back into full on mode. A definite must have.

Manu Riga continues his exhaustive 2016 with another fine remix that is directed squarely to the floors and the deeper recesses of the mind. The remix intros with a hypnotic thumping kick drum and offset bass combo with a shuffling hat sequence up top providing a steady rhythmic flow. The probing bass digs deep into your mind as the layers build creating a tight arrangement. Club style chords slot in perfectly against a backdrop of some very cool spoken vocals. Mesmeric strings and synths weave their intricate patterns through the sound and on the break we are graced with a beautiful ethnic female vocal that sends shivers down the spine. Another epic slice form the master of the beat, not to be missed. 

The Original Mix of Parazard is a brilliant slice of club progressive featuring a stunning, catchy diva inspired vocal. A solid kick drum and rhythmic percussion section gives this one maximum dancefloor appeal and when you throw in a deep probing bassline then you'll have no choice but to get down. If that wasn't enough we are treated to some excellent vocals that blend perfectly into the prog style with a distinct house flavour. Top notch stuff that will not disappoint.

The ever popular Experimental Feelings delivers yet another fine cut with his remix of Parazard. A solid progressive performance ensues with punchy kick drums and shuffling hi hats alongside a deep bubbling bassline at the forefront. The diva fuelled vocal that rings out dominates the track brilliantly adding that special club appeal to the sound. Mysterious pads and FX give off a wonderfully rich vibe full of cool textures while a beautifully subtle synth line runs through the track. A real stomper here that will generate a lot of attention for sure.

Pilots Of The Millennium

Musical genius Airwave returns to Bonzai Progressive for 2017 with the delectable Amber Sky which comes backed up with two top notch remixes. As always we're blown away by this guy's brilliance, he manages to bring that WOW factor to everything he touches, his productions remain consistently of a very high standard which will continue for a very long time. 2016 was another big year for Laurent Veronnez, he ramped up his DJ profile with gigs all over the world and solidifying his stance among his army of fans. His last outing Pray For Happiness on JOOF Recordings gained a lot of support and we've no doubt that this one will follow suit.

Amber Sky delivers a beautifully constructed simplistic track that packs a massive punch. Airwave's trademark pumping kick drums lead the charge before a deep and lush rumbling bassline enters to the backdrop of mysterious layered FX. An intensity creeps in as the track builds while a calming pad fills the background. The lead melody comes through and marries perfectly to the changing notes of the bassline. The break dishes out a wonderful soundscape filled with rich pads and droning bass that fade off leaving a tempo increasing build up before slamming right back into the main track for the duration. Superb stuff that will not disappoint.

Basil O'Glue aka Greek DJ and producer Haris Vasiloglou is up first on remix duties and, after appearing on a few compilations for us in the past, this one marks his Bonzai Progressive debut. Having honed his musical taste through listening to many different styles he discovered that he had a penchant for electronic music. Through hard work and devotion he started to produce his own music and he found himself releasing on labels such as Coldharbour, Saturate Audio, Afterglow and Armada to name just a few. The remix intros with a proper oldskool progressive vibe that offers a deep warmth to the sound as throbbing bassline makes its way through. Beautifully crafted FX and a tight drum arrangement deliver a solid rhythm while floating subtle melodies come in. We are soon embroiled in a more contemporary euphoric sound as wide pads and big synths are introduced. A seriously banging track that is a definite must have.

Jamie Baggotts returns with another top notch remix. His last effort was on remix duties for Platunoff's Primavera which proved popular among many. With a slew of top quality cuts under his belt here at BP, Jamie is establishing himself as a solid artist and very much in demand. Lots more to come from this guy no doubt so keep an eye and an ear on him. On the remix here we set off with huge pounding kick drums accompanied by crispy hats and a bubbling bassline. In the background mysterious pads shimmer as an intensity starts to build. The bassline transforms into a powerful rolling pattern while melodic synths fade in. The break offers a short respite where we're treated to a beautiful array of sounds that contrast between the low and high frequencies before slamming back into full on mode. Not to be missed.

2017 marks a milestone year for us at Bonzai, we're 25! To mark this momentous occasion we've got some amazing surprises that are coming your way over the next 12 months. We kick off the celebrations with a tantalising remix of an absolute classic from an absolute legend, Jam El Mar goes to work on one of Bonzai's most famous releases - The House Of House by Cherrymoon Trax. First released in 1994 on Bonzai Records - catalogue number for the trainspotters is BR 94054 - THOH fuelled the beginning of a new wave of harder edged sounds and tracks that build and build with epic climaxes. Cherrymoon Trax were a veritable who's who in the Belgian electronic music scene, borne out of the phenomena that was New Beat, a collection of artists including Bjorn Wendelen, David Brants, Eddy Weyns, Franky Kloeck, Ilya Depuydt, Kris Vanderheyden, Nico Deleu, Pascal Quatretemps, Peter Schiettekatte, Philip Dirix, Youri De Pauw, Yves Deruyter got together and the rest is history. Although the group members have changed over the years the legacy remains. While all this was going on, Jam El Mar aka Rolf Ellmer - alongside his long time friend and studio partner, the late great Mark Spoon aka Markus Löffel, were taking electronic music to new heights as Jam & Spoon with the likes of Follow Me and Stella among many others. So we just knew that he was the perfect candidate to get this party started in style. Keep an eye out for more info as each month we will have a new classic remixed by the cream of the electronic music crop.

The remix delivers a solid techno fuelled ride filled with nostalgia and a burning dancefloor agenda. We're taken deep with this one and from the intro we're locked on. A steady pulsing bass note and percussion hit combo trails a fading in "the house of house" vocal. A hypnotic synth pluck comes in before the monster kicks take hold with a powerful bass landing on the beat. The classic synths that we all know join in and, while slowed down still carry the same obsessive, infectious groove that digs deep into your soul. After an intense build up we find ourselves completely spaced out as those synths work their magic. A superb tribute to a much loved classic that will keep the legacy stronger than ever.

‘Lost In A Feeling’ is the uplifting, anthemic collaboration of the summer from Sylvia Tosun & Pino Benji. The new single, released July 10 on Sea to Sun, showcases Tosun’s ethereal vocal stylings with a lush chorus, layered with harmony. Pino Benji’s production delivers a timeless trance vibe that cradles the vocal in a nurturing embrace, while melodic synth hooks and a rhythmically bouncing bassline drive the track towards the dancefloor.
  
Sylvia Tosun is known as one of the most recognizable voices in electronic music, with six Billboard Dance Chart Top 10’s including #1 hit "Push n Pull". In 2011, Armin van Buuren, one of dance music’s biggest names began heavily supporting “An Angel’s Love”, Tosun's collaboration with trance DJ Alex Morph. He played it in nearly all of his sets around the globe, helping the song to become one of the genre's most beloved songs of all time. Since then, Tosun has collaborated with some of the most popular producers of trance including Aly & Fila and Andrew Rayel.  

Pino Benji are a new production team hailing from Finland, a quartet comprised of Tuomas Kallinen, Jussi Vuorivirta, Sauli Ollonen and Henrik Kantola. On a mission to bring a fresh sound into trance, with a pinch of old school vibes, their opportunity to collaborate with Sylvia Tosun came from a combination of fortuitous timing, serendipitous inspiration and a well crafted email. Tosun’s manager received a polite enquiry with a link to hear a track demo. Despite receiving several such enquiries each week, the demo caught his ear enough to add it into a playlist including other tracks for Sylvia to consider.  A few weeks later, the singer-songwriter sat down at her piano in search of fresh inspiration and clicked on Pino Benji’s track. The rest, as they say, is history… 

Never was a track more aptly named than "Lost In A Feeling". The classic, melodic trance draws you in but then as the beats evaporate and the musical moment is suspended in air, a rich bed of pads provide the foundation for Sylvia’s celestially textured voice to guarantee you lose yourself in the feeling.

Injecting the song with high-octane power is the Digital X remix, a hands-in-the-air, dancefloor beast of a track with tough beats and a driving acid synth. The dynamic arrangement elevates the feeling of the original mix with delicate moments that build into a crescendo, peaking as the beat drops into trance euphoria.

In such a short space of time, Montreal's Solid Stone has firmly established himself in the upper echelons of the progressive genre, with his easily identifiable grooves and dark tones. He embarks on a new adventure through Coldharbour by presenting his We Are One series, with Chapter 1 yielding three gorgeous pieces.

For two of the three pieces, Solid Stone reaches out to friends Michael Gin and Ghost Wars, to apply their interpretation on Xonic and More respectively. The former is an ideal mood setter for the evening, with luscious and vibrant ease; whilst More is such an infectious vocal treat; one that you will be singing along to after a first listen. And not to be outshone on his own right, Watchmen rounds off another fantastic palette of work.

We Are One - Chapter 1 demonstrates why Solid Stone is so highly regarded, and luckily for all of us, there is more to come. With support on all three tracks by Markus Schulz among others, this is an essential if you lean towards those dark progressive vibes.
