New premiere: Lingua Nera - LiveReborn (Timeless records)

Alex and Francesco met in Bologna in late 2019. Francesco has composed electronic music since 2000 as "tabache" and is a key figure in at least two underground electronic crews/labels Alex is an anglo-naonian singer and multi instru-mentalist. During the lockdown they met secretly to give shape to Lingua Nera the sounds you will hear are the result of sessions and live improvisations built throughout 2020 and 2021 composed mainly with analogue stuff: some synths, a drum machine, loads of guitar fxs and distorsions. The tracks are very diverse but with a common thread that connects them, from weird bluesy chanting (“I don’t want a new guitar”) to psychedelic experimental noisy synths (Parasite). Lyrics from “Poison” and “Warm Up” are written by William Blake.

The Columbian DJ and producer Ofelia Ortodoxa (@ofeliaortodoxa) returns to the Greek DIY label DYSTATIK (@dystatik), run by Athenian DJ/producer dry_feel (@dry_feel), this time for his debut cassette album on the label!
Ofelia is one of the most expressive and interesting producers from Columbia who makes Electronic music varying from Electro to Ambient. On his album "Basics For Sadness", rescued tracks and ideas from old cassette recordings and new collaborations with other artists, namely Valanaïs (@val-rie-hendrich) & Ferdinand Cärclash (@ferdinand-carclash), offering us a powerful EP with Minimal Synth and Dark Wave aesthetic using for all of them, a certain nostalgic fee.

WL//WH is glad to premiere the desolate, ominous, and spectral atmospheric synth-laden "Secret Knights" featuring fellow Bogotà's synth musician Fernando Carranza aka Ferdinand Cärclash, drowned in a barren wasteland of the soul, where numb 'Secret Nights' are spent wanting to feel, but a heavy droning sequence of bouncy bass throbs, relentless icy bright rippling obsessive synth loops and mechanical blank stacked marching beats surround cold, baritone spoken words with an endless spiral of angsty frequencies, whilst a distant blurry layer of haunting whirring disturbances ignites paranoia and impending doom.

Melbourne Industrial/EBM scene representative, master mind behind Power Station/Power Cuts Kris Baha, contributes to Berlin based imprint Cocktail d’Amore with “Autora”. 
Intensely disturbed, sleazy and dirty, the title track follows the lead of the most traditional EBM beats. “Autora” barks with distorted oddities perfectly mashed to an involving balance. 
A factory ambiance out in the forest under a starry sky is “Brink Reality”. A slower paced gem for cosmic, stomping dance floors. While the beat-less A3 “Happiness Disaster” could open a scene of Twin Peaks 2999.    
“10Ways” settles with a thundering bolt of crushing steel, bouncing percussions and a vocal worth of Front 242’s legacy. 
Closing the EP on a romantic and sweet note, “Start Over” is an italo/wave hybrid ballad tinged with hope and brightness.
