Śrī Śrī Jagannāthāṣṭakam is an ancient Sanskrit composition written by Śrī Śaṅkar Āchārya, an incarnation of Lord Shiva who appeared on this earth from 788-820 AD. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu would chant this composition in great ecstatic joy. The Jagannāthāṣṭakam are eight verses (“āṣṭakam") glorifying Lord Jagannāth, a unique and ecstatic form of Lord Kṛṣṇa,

mahāmbhodhes tīre kanaka-rucire nīla-śikhare
vasan prāsādāntaḥ sahaja-balabhadreṇa balinā
subhadrā-madhya-sthaḥ sakala-sura-sevāvasara-do
