Lab Sessions Live Alongside Impression - 10 - 6-2024

Greetings Sound Stream Sessions listeners, dj's, artists and producers. We appreciate your support of the page over the years, giving us ears to listen to the music we put together and being the lifeblood of this culture we all find such enjoyment in being a part of.

I wanted to give you all something different this time as well as challenge myself to create something new, 'a bit of a break from the norm' if you will. This session started as something completely different in my head, different title, tracks, vibe etc. I put together some nice bits and pieces, using some Electronica tunes seasoned with different samples from movies, documentaries and classic hip hop but the overall vibe just wouldn't come together. Under advice from council (lol) I decided to just 'Lean in to the weirdness'. So that's what I did and this is what came out.

It's a Spacey intro featuring a rendition of Einstein drawing us in to the trip, After that Jazz and Funk vibes start us off with an abstract tone, followed by tracks ranging from dark to vibrant, atmospheric to experimental, with a different angle on mixing here, focusing more on ambient and smooth transitions, sometimes changing vibes abruptly. I know I'm taking a bit of a chance on this one but hey, that's where true creativity comes from right. 

Anyways, hope you dig it. Intended to be more of an experience than a traditional mix. Taking Inspiration and blend style from the Electronica and Hip Hop Realms.

Re:Circulation is a new mix series which will feature older tunes that either never made it onto a Body&Soul mix, or classics that did but I want to revisit and revive them by mixing them with different tracks, and also there will be a few new tunes (mostly when none of the tunes in my library will fit!). Circulation was the first Body&Soul mix, so the title seemed fitting lol. I have a good bit of tunes that just didn't fit in (it's the land of misfit tunes!) and kind of got left on the backburner, but they're great tunes, so they aren't "rejects". FYI! These mixes will also include some older tunes that were recently re-released on a comp (tunes I missed originally), or ones I just found going through back catalogues. Enjoy the mix. Jimmy Knees ft MissGray - Liquid Assets 8/11/2024

Colin Pierce is a 23 yr veteran DJ hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where he became highly and widely respected for his skills and integrity. 

“A musical journey”
Colin is a lifetime music junky. He is the first human to be born with headphones already on! Seriously though, since 6 years of age he has been actively seeking, collecting, and enjoying, music, and that was in 1983, so you do the math! Colin had 2 bands in high school, and wrote all or much of the music for them. He started mixing records in 1998 shortly after his first rave party, and hasn't stopped, always continuing to refine his formidable technical skills and dynamic range, and always working to pursue improvement. 

Colin is going on a decade clean and sober, as of 2024, and does not play gigs often anymore, focusing on discovering God's purpose. He does it strictly for the love at this point, for the communication, the merging of minds. Having retired mostly from live performances, he is now working on refining the art of mixing, which was the first love: long mixing tracks so that they really dance together and form something new and compelling. Exploring key mixing and perfecting the seamless mix is the new fascination, as well as a rediscovered passion and appreciation for liquid drum and bass.
