The Great Lakes Improvising Orchestra features Wisconsin-based composers and improvisers including Amanda Schoofs (voice), David Collins (tenor saxophone), Chris Burns (guitar), Rick Ollman (bass clarinet, clarinet, flute), Jim Schoenecker (electronics), Chris Rosenau (guitar), Kevin Schlei (electronics), Steve Schlei (electronics), Linda Binder (violin), Steve Nelson-Raney (soprano saxophone, piano), Jon Mueller (percussion), Jeff Klatt (cello), Hal Rammel (conductor).  Organized by Hal Rammel in December 2011, the ensemble explores collective large ensemble improvisation.



Rhythmplex is an imprint for the work of drummer and percussionist Jon Mueller, exploring the broad effects of experience through various mediums.

Hallock Hill is the performing and recording name of Tom Lecky, a New York based musician.

This site features work by Hal Rammel in various solo, duo, trio, and ensemble performances.  

Hal Rammel has been designing and building musical instruments since the 1970s and explores these unique sound sources in the context of both improvisation and composition.  He has released work on the CD label Penumbra Music, along with various projects on Atavistic, Crouton and Soutrane.
