The background for the inspiration of course is Homer and the tales on the Trojan war. But Kassandra does not tell a story – it’s a kind of a painting with an ancient scenery or maybe just a sketch: Kassandra in front of the burning city. And it could be a modern painting. We are in a distance of more than 3.000 years to the plot of the ancient tales – and still mankind has Kassandras and tears in front of burning cities.

Working on Kassandra i had in mind from the beginning that Cindy will take the main voc in this song. So i wrote the harmonies and the song structure with that in mind and i love how she sings the song. Kassandra also includes a few notes played with a Greek Baglamas and helps the song to get a special note. This string instrument is the small sister of a Bouzouki.

The inspiration for the track came last year when part of my favourite walk was closed for renovations,but I sneaked in past the barriers most days anyway!
Being alone is a landscape prompted be to imagine I was the only person left alive. This in turn took me to what we are doing to the planet and what we might do to help.

Wanted to celebrate the last Wednesday of this week with a piano track. So I improvised a little bit on just a few chords. Imagine how great this track would have been with more chords and more than just 61 keys! Anyway I hope you like it.

Fallen Star

I composed this song somewhere during my first year on university - which means a long, long time ago. The string part I played on guitar as a finger pick up, and main melody I was singing with lyrics about ecological awareness. When I played around with different sounds, I stumbled upon string sound and we had a winner. Then I done bass line and all rhythms. 

Structure is simple: pick up/riff, verse, bridge, chorus, which all goes twice. First time no drums, second time with slow rock rhythm, and at the end I throw faster rhythm with pick up and do some around 5-6 fill ups. Pretty sure that's my record for number of fill up in one song (at least so far). Bass is slightly distorted, continuous, and dark and loud. It only plays cord progression, nothing fancy.

- synth strings - strings staccato (other)
- bass - 70s classic synth bass (bass) - smooth
- oboe - oboe (other) - in first verse
- french horn - french horn (other) - in second verse
- hi-hat - modern 909 (electronic)
- snare + kick - crate digger (electronic)

p.s. Later on I found out that there is a porn actress named Autumn Falls, so to be clear, that is a pure coincidence. I wanted to name the song after a town in Vampire diaries, but that was Mystic falls, and I already had song Mystic bass around that time, so it would be clashing. 

Hence, autumn falls. It sounds dark and mystical. Picture is made in Canva, as always. I chose dark, autumn forest, with ground covered with fallen leaves, and air full of fog. It nicely represents unknown and mysterious atmosphere that is characteristic to the sound and feeling of this song. Enjoy.
