Matteo Viani (Black Seed) and Andrea Marini (SabaSaba) gather their gears and influences to craft a narrative and figurative landscape through sounds and signals.

These 8 tracks, as sounds experimentations, have been spontaneously recorded live, then enhanced byTioma Tchoulanov (Nze Nze) mastering, create a navigation in some shallow waters, a Path of Paladin from the darkness to the light of brighter days.

This comes as a tape, dubbed on recycled batches, wrapped in a very exclusive collage by Andrea Marini.

Max Schreiber is the more introspective guise of Mule Driver, reserved for
drifting into fragile and haunted sonic territories.

Variations on Memory Vol.2 deepens Schreiber’s exploration of collective
sound and personal distortion. This time, fragments of lullabies and children’s songs resurface along side memorial songs—distorted by time, memory, and a quiet sense of unease.

Schreiber treats these melodies not as sacred relics, but as raw material:
vulnerable to noise, decay, and reinterpretation. Recorded in intuitive, often single-take sessions, the album challenges the listener’s sense of nostalgia. Sentimentality collapses into abstraction, and familiar tunes unravel into drifting soundscapes—like half-remembered scenes from a film that never existed.

Variations on Memory Vol.2 is less about what these songs once meant, and
more about what they might conceal.

Today we have Sadie La Chèvre and Nora Düster - Extra Bleu Ciel, a minimal synth band based in Biel, Switzerland.
Extra Bleu Ciel is a bipolar borderline hyperactive teenager who likes to eat marshmallows at the cemetery.
Extra Blue Ciel cries with joy contemplating the flight of hysterical crows at sunset.
Extra Blue Ciel loves joyful despair and finds joy hopeless.
Extra Bleu Ciel will always be 15 years old in 1981.

"Hypersensible" is the idiosyncratic trace left by individuals oscillating between nightmare reality and waking dream, sailing between naive euphoria and lucid disillusionment, trying to defy fatality and maintain hope, dancing in the pre-diluvian mud of a dying 21st century.

Following our recent news article on Kokong Festival, today we turn our attention to the festival’s inaugural sampler - a curated glimpse into the artists set to perform this weekend inside the iconic geodesic dome at Pub Stallhagen on Åland.

Spanning four tracks, the compilation brings together leading voices from the Nordic electronic music scene: FISK, the analog techno alias of Finnish producer and Elektron product specialist Daniel Troberg; the exploratory textures of Andreas Tilliander and jazz trumpeter Goran Kajfeš; the murky Baltic atmospheres of Havsmörker; and the pulsating club energy of Norwegian techno veteran Mental Overdrive.

Our pick from the sampler is the opening track 'Ilväder' by Scandinavian duo @havsmoorker. Comprising Anton Johansson and Axel Jonsson, the pair fuse field recordings, analogue synthesis, and traditional acoustic instrumentation into immersive folktronica and ambient works. Their sound conjures a sense of sensory navigation - foggy, spatial, and deeply intuitive.

Steeped in atmosphere, Ilväder is both murky and crystalline - a meditative piece that weaves mystical synth lines with effervescent percussion, blending natural elements like flute with earthy, ancient textures. The result is an experimental, downbeat track that gently leans toward the techno spectrum, while remaining rooted in introspection and place.
