This years summer mix entry has me trying some new styles and genres; this is the most energetic and ravey mix I've put out in some time. Moving through various moods of 120-125 BPM electronic music, from deep house and dubtechno sound palettes to rugged broken beats and syncopated grooves.

here is the Set that I played last Saturday on the Acid Bogen Floor at Kater Blau. My urge to play downtempo grew a lot the past time. I was missing this deep vibe, that is not obviously pushing you, but welcomes you with open arms, so you can fall, fall, fall. So I tried to stay on one of my favorite Tempos "109BPM" unfolding the vibe not with faster tempo, but only deeper and deeper music. And boy it worked. Thanks so much to everyone on the floor for being so open and letting go so much to create this free, gutturally boisterous vibe on the floor together. It was really magical <3

The man behind Spiky is Spiros Tseronis from Mannheim Germany – a
talented musician,producer and Psybient DJ
member of Ajnavision Records & EaRtH CiTy ReCoRdZ,who since his very
young age has been always enchanted by
music. As a child he learned to play the accordion, which later changed
to piano and synthesizers.
However, he really enjoyed playing any instrument he ever met.

In the 90´s he organized parties in his homecity Mannheim and Athens
with his friends.
Spikys first Liveact was in 1998, only with a Quasimidi Raven
synthesizer, on a party in Mannheim with his friends
George P., and Nekes. He worked in 2000-2004 on a tv broadcast company
as an audio-technician and learned
all the hidden tricks with the use of machinery and equipment for the
recording, mixing and reproduction of sounds
including electronics, acoustics, psychoacoustics, and music. With all
this input Spiky built his own homestudio.

The past years Spiky travelled all over the world on all kind of indoor
clubs and underground outdoor gatherings
and festivals, inspired by different styles of electronic music!

After discovering computer based music production and trying himself in
different compositions from beatless
ambient music to dirty ass-kicking techno, he began writing tech &
house tunes as Spiky and produced 2009
on Diaphan label his first track called “Forest Trees”.
His latest release ( Spiky - Mystic Tabla ) was this year on a
compilation called "Future Sound Of The Underground Vol.2"
from Celt Islam new Label EaRtH CiTy ReCoRdZ .


As a DJ, he likes to play Psybient music. Last Summer 2010 Spiky played
an amazing 9-hours Psybient Set on
a three-days festival in Germany/Hockenheim!
In 2011 played at Psyculture Festival in Greece and in the
“Waterdragon” Year 2012 he was invited to play at
Transition Festival (Spain), Spirit Base Festival (Hungary), Antaris
Festival (Germany), Yaga Gathering (Lithuania),
Voltron Festival (Turkye) and in Transylvania Calling (Romania)!!
In 2013 played Spiky at Tangra Festival (Bulgaria), Antaris Festival
(Germany) and in Dance Xperience Festival in Greece.

Psybient pieces are often structured around the concept of creating a
“sonic voyage” or “musical journey”
also exactly like Spiky’s life…

I was so nervous before I started playing, but once I began and seeing all the beautiful people swaying to the sounds in front of the booth, I felt nothing but love. The warm feeling you all gave me determined the trackselection so that's probably why there were a bunch of 70's vibe tracks in it.
Afterwards when I was (completely exhausted) sitting on the couch outside, a bunch of people came to me with such sweet compliments and one guy in particular told me that i played a bunch of tracks which made him want to come up on stage and hug me
I hope we'll all meet again very soon and wanted to express my thanks to  everyone who was there at the party and stayed there untill the early hours for all the hugs and all the love
Special thanks goes out to @konchord, @farn-berlin and @deep_schismic for inviting me and making me feel as welcome as you guys did. You all did an amazing job.

First teased with the release of bubbling lead single ‘Calores’ in January,   ‘Da Linha’ crowns a defining breakthrough three years for PEDRO that have seen him establish himself as one of Portugal’s most vibrant and exciting new-school producers. His debut EP ‘Damaia’ (2017) – named after the suburb of Lisbon he was born in – immediately signposted a bright, borderless and completely unique club sound, which has since been best emphasised by 2019 releases including the Buraka Som Sistema-sampling ‘Rapazes’ and a breathless collaboration with Nigerian MC, Magugu (‘Too Much’), both of which feature on the LP tracklist.

First inspired by his older brother, who would introduce PEDRO to the latest electronic music from all over Europe, PEDRO references DJ Rolando’s ‘Knights Of Jaguar’ as a memorable early touch point – a record he still credits with influencing the melodies he writes to this day. Living and growing up in Damaia, a neighbourhood of Amadora, the biggest and most diverse Lisbon suburb which counts almost 20% of migrant population, mostly from former Portuguese colonies such as Angola, Cape Verde or Brazil, exposing him to a whole patchwork of new sounds and genres like kuduro and kizomba from a very young age. 

In Portuguese, ‘Da Linha’ translates to mean ‘of the line’, an extended name-slash-title that’s been given to PEDRO over the years. ‘The line’ here refers to the Sintra line, a train line that connects Lisbon to Amadora and PEDRO’s neighbourhood of Damaia. The artwork builds on this idea by presenting a futuristic take on the aesthetics of public transportation signage, while also adopting the colours of the Amadora council flag — an open dedication to PEDRO’s hometown and all of its unique musical and cultural influences.

With such a rich and diverse musical upbringing, it is perhaps no wonder that ‘Da Linha’ is bursting with energy and colour across all 10 tracks, melding together the hyper-specific sounds, instruments and voices that have sound-tracked PEDRO’s life so far. From the marching, militant rhythm of ‘Stuck On You’ ft. standout Ghanaian MC, Bryte, to the silky, earworm melodies of closing track ‘'Para Ti’, you’d be hard pushed to find a debut record that captures the sound of a city so viscerally.

Der heutige KataHaifisch Special-Podcast ist von co:co aka Conny Bertram. Die junge Hamburgerin ist noch neu in der elektronischen Szene und hat bisher drei Sets auf ihrem SoundChannel veröffentlicht. In ihren Kreationen kombiniert sie die verführerischen Vibes des Melodic Techno mit der prallen Power des Peak-Time Technos. Ihr Podcast für KataHaifisch steht den anderen Exemplaren in nichts nach und schäumt nur so über vor technoider Energie. 

In den nachfolgenden 67 Minuten lässt sich ein unverkennbarer roter Faden heraushören. Von Track zu Track und von Break zu Break steigt die Spannung. Ein untypisches Weihnachtsfest

Die Weihnachtszeit hat heute ihren Höhepunkt erreicht. Das Fest ist in diesem Jahr definitiv ganz anders, als es sonst so war. Der Kreis wird auf die engsten Familienmitglieder beschränkt und innerhalb der heimischen Vierwände, sich beschenkt. So manche Tradition wird diese Weihnachten gebrochen, so haben die Kirchen und Gebetshäuser kollektiv geschlossen. Vieles läuft an diesem Heiligabend ungewöhnlich ab, doch so manches bleibt auch altvertraut. Geschenke laden unterm Baum, und auf den Weihnachtsumtrunk verzichten die Meisten, wohl kaum. Es wird gut gegessen und viel gelacht, irgendwie wird aus eigenartig, dann doch passend gemacht. Man nennt Weihnachten nicht umsonst Zeit der Besinnlichkeit, also lasst uns dankbar sein für Familie, Freunde, Wohlstand und Gesundheit.
