NYT best-selling author Richard Poe discuses his upcoming book on the history of globalism and why its birth is not with the America Empire as so often is portrayed, but rather emanates from the British Empire which continues operating from behind the scenes. He points out the odd fact that Pax Britannica won two world wars and then just mysteriously disappeared. Britain still maintains its liberal imperial or globalist empire via its commercial and financial hegemonic system, it simply switched its subjects from formal to informal dependencies. It lets the American Empire do the heavy lifting through costly military machinery and waging of war. He also gives his thoughts on The Great Reset which seems to be the next phase of globalism, an aristocratic agenda that seeks to bring us back to the Middle Ages.

Richard Poe: Globalism Rooted in British Liberal Imperialism, Not American Empire #201

For the Reverse Delay prompt, I generated a piece I have named Hallucinogenetic.  In a moment of self-delusion, I bought, not one, but two Morphogene modules. In a rack, there they sat, unused for longer than I cared to remember - intimidating like an oversized canvas is to a small tube of paint.  So this was a perfect prompt to get some time with these modules - for which I am grateful.  We all need a push sometimes.  In any case, I plucked a small 10 second sample of strings and a second shorter sample of woodwinds which were installed one each onto the two Morphogene module SD cards.  The result, Hallucinogenetic was recorded in one take on one track into Ableton Live with some compression, EQ and reverb.  It definitely has some ragged edges but the process has demonstrated to me the potential of these modules.

Neue Klänge für sehr alte Instrumente – Wien Modern und vier österreichische Musikuniversitäten luden einen Abend lang zu einem frischen Blick auf Orgeln von 1642 ff. Für ein breites künstlerisches Spektrum sorgte ein Call for Scores, der mit mehr als 40 internationalen Einreichungen sowohl von renommierten Komponist*innen wie auch aus dem Nachwuchsbereich ein sehr erfreuliches Echo hatte.

Nach eingehender Auseinandersetzung mit den anonymisierten Partituren und nach ausführlicher Beratung hat die sechsköpfige Fachjury eine Auswahl getroffen: Zwölf sehr unterschiedliche Werke von drei Komponistinnen und acht Komponisten aus Wien, Klosterneuburg, Graz, Linz, Berlin, Madrid, Amsterdam und Novara werden am 07.11.2020 ab 19:00 Uhr in drei Wiener Kirchen zur Uraufführung gebracht.
