Slime is proud to present the third instalment in its Future Sound of Garage series.

The first two volumes have been hugely popular for the label, with both debuting at Number One in the Juno Download UKG Album Chart and remaining in the top ten since their release, with the retailer stating “with a reputation like that of Slime's, when they present their idea of garage future, it tends to be pretty definitive”. Both volumes received widespread support and critical acclaim across the garage DJ community, with substantial airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Kiss FM, Capital Xtra and beyond. The second volume contained arguably the biggest underground UKG hit of the last year in Bad Habit’s ‘Fools Love’, which continues to be a staple of DJ sets and radio play around the world.

Fast forward to 2016 and Garage is very much in the ascendancy once more, but what of the future for the sound? For this year’s edition of the compilation, Slime has cast the net wider than ever before to capture some of the most exciting up and coming producers from the growing global scene, featured here alongside more established names of the underground. Across 28 exclusive tracks, we trace the huge explosion in the sound over the past year with a full spectrum of sounds and styles that take Garage into brave new worlds and push the boundaries of this ever evolving genre. As a document of a resurgent scene it is wholly comprehensive, containing a multitude of styles to provide an essential package of dancefloor anthems and deeper gems for the discerning DJ or connoisseur of UKG – and further reinforcing Slime as the home of forward-thinking bass music.

UK chart-topper @shift-key is back on Night Bass bringing us his “To the Floor” EP. With its melodically dark intro, first up is “To the Floor”, a heavy-hitter that resonates with Shift K3Y’s trademark vocal work and drops into a seriously heavy bassline that’s sure to bring you down to the floor. We introduced @NuBassofficial via our @NightBassRecords Freshmen Vol 1 and now we’re thrilled to debut his “Fuego” EP, a hearty 4-tracker that’s sure to bring on the heat. The driving, dark 4x4 bassline on his title track “Fuego” sets the tone for one bass-heavy EP. His collaboration with @HotGoodsUK on the next track “Dead Prez” offers some inspiring subliminal vocals and his 3rd track featuring @PVCukmusic brings an up-tempo garage-tinged beat. The man @CorruptMusicUK is back on @NightBassRecords with another smashing release - ‘Real Mob’ EP. The UK bassline maven took things by storm with his ‘It’s Not OK’ EP and now he’s back with more of his rave artillery. Title track ‘Real Mob’ and its classic bassline starts off the EP strong. The b-side brings in incredible vocal work from @NatzSoBossy on ‘They Can’t Do It’, driving right into ‘Shook’ (VIP), a UK bass-heavy groover that ends the EP on a head-knocking note.

To celebrate, we brought together legendary purveyors of @NightBassRecords music for a unique blend of genres that culminate into one expertly crafted 9-track release. Label boss @ACSlater lights the torch with ‘Big Loud Heavy Bass’ - a track that speaks true to its name. @Chris-Lorenzo-1 keeps the big bass energy up with ‘Dash’, a certified club-banger that bounces seamlessly into the long-awaited Spicy Noodles VIP mix, courtesy of @Flava_D. A refreshingly melodic intro comes through on @Shift-Key’s ‘Ragz’, before descending into a shape-shifting bassline drop, paving the way for @Taiki-Nulight-uk’s musically diverse “Kush”, with the iconic Dread MC’s vocals.
