Following the first EP of his new CONTEMPLATION project, Arno E. Mathieu delivers here a real Mediterranean French boogie tune. Dedicated to the landscape of his hometown in Provence, the track has been thought as a walk in the hills, but with a typical and local gypsy funky twist that brings a true balearic mood. 

After the bass line, latin guitar and funky drums opening, chords and melodies come quickly to introduce all the fresh vocal modulations of the Marseille native singer, Zula. Her performance sounds like she is showing us a small path in the hills, taking our hand for a walk under the sun of summer, and whispering us the warmest words about almond trees and thyme bushes parfums.

Mark E takes the most electronic side of the original for a dope deep and hypnotic reinterpretation, evolving in sobriety with super elegant strings over driving drum and guitar gimmicks, keeping the essence of the original but with a housey touch.  

For the second remix, Arno wanted to ask his old friends, the duo Next Evidence, to team-up once again, 20 years after their timeless and classic album «Thrills», to revisit «Colline»…

It is maybe the best feeling Arno had about a comeback of Next Evidence, as the result is an ultra energic funky jam, full of great music references, but with a real personal touch, delivering a dope dancefloor killer for funk and disco addicts.

Incorporating sounds from the series, arranged over driving Italo bass lines and bouncing hi-hats, the London based producer delivers 4 original tracks. Birds remixes the title track, with a post-punk, new wave twist, merging her vocals over the top for her typical sound.

Ben Arsenal & Rob Paine join forces for ‘Police In The Streets' on Worship Recordings.

Established by Rob Paine & Dan McGehan in the summer of 1998, Worship Recordings quickly obtained a reputation for being a purveyor of the ‘dub house’ genre which blended house music and dubbed-out sound design. Originally starting as an in-house production label, Worship then went on to release music from artists that paralleled their vision including Chris Udoh, Solomonic Sound, Jay Tripwire, Pete Moss, Grant Dell, and Hakan Libdo.

On their latest release, label-boss Rob Paine and Worldtown and Elevate Sound Studios co-founder Ben Arsenal team up for ‘Police In The Streets’, featuring four versions from the duo. Leading the release is the original, which sees the pair reach for funky drums, light vocal chops, and bubbling effects amongst a dynamic, dancefloor-friendly arrangement.

The first of the reinterpretations, Ben Arsenal’s ‘Tech Version’ sees the DJ/producer strip back the original track, injecting sharp, swinging drums and dubbed-out FX tweaks. Rob Paine’s ‘Tribal Desert Dub’ follows, opting for a more mellow approach with drawn-out pads, hand-played drum rolls, and a subtle atmospheric reverb on the vocals. Closing out the release is the ‘Funky Acid Micro Dose Dub’, which targets the trippy after hours with dubwise sensibilities, 303 acid lines, and smooth drums combining for a late-night roller.

The duo is back with their latest single ‘Let Music Always Round Me’. A tune that flourished in a jam session in an early morning. The duo started playing with the legendary Acetone Rhythm Ace drum machine and then began jamming with the bass and synthesisers.

The song text is inspired by, maybe even a remix of, poet Walt Whitman’s work. Randomly flicking through the pages and picking out one-liners that reflected something in the duo.

It's time for a massive extended play from Oaxaca, Mexico. Ricci OJ a.k.a. Mad Slow presents us : "Distopía", 3 original tracks and 5 remixes by: So Piuzzi, Bluecommand, Paltamango, Lucas Novaes and Khafuri.

Mad Slow takes references from chip-tune, electro and techno to create this EP: Machine, Jungle and Detroit are the songs that make up this "Distopía". With big basses, robotic sounds and strong highs, the Oaxacan transports us to a half-extraterrestrial atmosphere to enjoy this journey that is transformed a long the way with the incredible remixes.

From Cordoba, Argentina, So Piuzzi takes "Jungle" to a style between deep, minimal and techno, using ethereal sounds, generating a dark atmosphere.

Creating an introverted version of restrained electronic music Berlin-based artist Constantijn Lange releases his second album 'Liquide' on Heimlich Musik. The album is based on sketches created in isolation during the second pandemic year.

The compositions are characterized by self-reflection and an attempt to translate the abstract experience of listening to oneself into a concrete form. The sound of personal isolation, the necessary withdrawal from the world and the restriction of all social contacts is, therefore, less club oriented and focused on functionality than an expressive concept of ideas, rather oriented on Trip Hop, Breakbeat, Ambient and Jazz.

The collective rediscovery of shared experience results in arrangements of melancholic but optimistic melodies recorded with vintage synthesizers, supported by complex drum patterns and diverse percussions that create a signature sound as a new liquid amalgam.
