What a year for Lake People so far. Apart from several excellent releases and remixes, like his outstanding interpretation for Chymera's classic “Caprica Burning”, the Leipzig-based act is busy playing gigs around the globe. Earlier this year, he had his first South-America tour, North America is following this summer. His low-key and touching live-performances obviously work excellently. 

We are now more than happy to present the next Lake People EP. Four tracks, no remixes and each of them a pearl on its own. 

“Into” goes a bit in the direction of his hit “Point In Time” On Krakatau, while “Stepwise” and “Come Over Later” reminds of the timeless electronic approach of Acid Jesus or Soylent Green releases on Klang Elektonik. The soundscapish “Trace Missed Call” rounds up the release perfectly.

David Douglas is a Dutch electronica producer. He released his debut EP “Royal Horticultural Society” in 2012 and released his debut album ‘Moon Observations’ on 22 May. 

Right after the release of 'Moon Observations' on Atomnation, the Utrecht based producer brings a club edit of 'Je Ne Sais Pas', one of the standout tracks of his current live-set. Spanning over 6 minutes, this track is an uptempo blueprint of David's productions - consisting of strong Moog basses, Space Echo-ish dub snares and drums that always have a detailed touch. It's the stunning harmonies though that give David's music signature sound and the best part about it is that it we can provide the track FREE.

This “COMPOST 500 – Freshly Composted” episode includes previously unreleased tracks and remixes by Siren, Mark E, Mathias Schaffhäuser, Claudio Ricci & Megablast, SHOW-B, Robinn, Marbert Rocel, Emilie Nana and Compost Allstars (consisting of Christian Prommer, Beanfield’s Jan Krause, Roland Appel and Michael Reinboth) featuring Robert Owens and others.

#2 SOME MICHAEL REINBOTH FAVOURITES
In this chapter, our label head Michael Reinboth picked some of his fave tunes from the Compost back catalogue, including the works of Carl Craig, Âme, John Talabot, Todd Terje, Moonstarr, Jay Shepheard, Beanfield, A Forest Mighty Black and more. Of course there are much more, but those timeless tracks played a significant role in the Compost history.

#3 HIDDEN GEMS
The third chapter of COMPOST 500 points out a selection of top B-sides, secret weapons and undiscovered pearls from the Compost vault. Hermano Santiagueño - Reggae Infused - This album is a vibrant meeting of Argentine folk traditions from Santiago del Estero and the rhythmic pulse of Jamaican reggae. Carabajal, often called the “father of the chacarera,” brings the earthy, percussive drive of northern Argentine folk music, with guitars, bombo legüero, and heartfelt vocals. The Jamaica Band overlays these chacarera‑styled melodies with reggae’s steady basslines, syncopated guitar skank, and island percussion, creating a relaxed yet powerful reinterpretation.

For the first release of 2013 we are happy to welcome back the Australian duo Trinity & Beyond. We've had them aboard in 2011 so it was about time for them to return.

Trinity & Beyond is a collaboration between the lovely DJ Trinity and multi talented producer John Tzineris. With combined forces their productions are from an exceptional high level. In 2012, they've had a release on the Pinksilver label and they were also involved in delivering some quality remixes. Their remix for Nadja Lind's 'Brain Candy Remixed' album for instance was featured alongside remixes by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, D. Diggler and Dub Taylor. Trinity & Beyond were in good company to say the least.

Having had quite a nice year it only makes sense for Trinity & Beyond to release another EP filled with new originals. All three original tracks are a perfect blend of moody melodics, groovy basslines and perfect percussion which results in beautiful productions. Additionally there is a remix by Ina Becker, who has made her debut on Cinematique last year. She transforms the title track into an uncompromised dancefloor filler while Australian producer Child slows it down to an off beat deep house version.
