‘Measures / Island In The Sun’ is yet another accomplished single from Nostalgia 77. Out on 2nd March, this digital double A-side highlights two tracks from ‘Measures’, the second album under his Nostalgia 77 And The Monster guise, which came out in December, capping a huge 2014 for the prolific music maker; last year also saw him releasing an acclaimed solo LP and a collaborative dub/jazz album with Prince Fatty (including a BBC 6Music Playlisted single), as well as producing Jamie Cullum’s worldwide hit LP ‘Interlude’.

Nostalgia 77 And The Monster brings a flavoursome take on instrumental jazz and has been supported by Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews and many more tastemakers.

This single features their rendition of Sun Ra's otherworldly “An Island In The Sun” and the album’s title track, “Measures”, which has gained radio support from the likes of BBC 6Music’s Huey Morgan. Both tracks serve up homages to the artist’s influences, encased in the rhythms and melodies within.
