In September 2024, Douglas Greed put together a folder with lots of musical pieces. When I played at the Watergate for the very last time, I listened to everything in the hotel. "Everything is stupid, I wanna go home!" stuck with me. I listened to it in silence and decided that I probably had to do the first Tulpa Ovi, which definitely had nothing to do with myself. So Tulpa Ovi is growing,non? Then I asked my dear John Tejada if he could do a remix, and BOOM, there's a really cool John Tejada remix on top. 2025 is on fire already.

T.O.R. 011 Douglas Greed - Everyhting is stupid, I wanna go home!

Feines Tier veteran Johannes @klingebiel introduces @franz-matthews to the family and together they bring us “Ce Moment” EP, a basket of tunes full of colorful harmonies, bouncy grooves and poetic French lyrics. What more could one wish for?
The two producers and multi-instrumentalists met some years ago in their chosen
hometown Berlin and decided to fuse their producing and multi-instrumentalism game.
The first fruit of this labor was the much-loved and -played “Signs” on Heimlich records, now being followed by this EP here.
The title tune is an amalgamation of groovy electric bass riLs, spicy Prophet synth
sounds, melancholic vocals and certainly has something of that magic ingredient
people call the French Touch. A good tune to pick for House DJs who dig some Disco now and then and for Disco DJs in need of some solid House.
“La Traversée” is a crossing (multi-language pun intended) of bazillions of quirky synth sounds and melodies that somehow form a coherent whole, the sum of its part being a light and friendly but not cheesy house tune, that will make the sun go up on any dancefloor.
The mighty Kompakt overlord @michael-mayer-kompakt takes “Ce Moment” under his spell. The result is a grander and more mysterious aLair, made for bigger and darker dancefloors. The Sound of Cologne™ this is indeed!
Parisian up-and-comer @shimon-earthly adapts „La Traversée” into his sonic world. When Matthews and Shimon discussed the finished remix on the phone in French, all that le dilletant Johannes could understand from it were the words “très cool” and “after-hour vibe” , which… yes, completely tracks!

In good old label tradition, Feines Tier presents the new Zoo Compilation Volume 4. You can keep the first half of tracks 1-11 in mind as The Deep Tracks and from 12-21 as The Action Tracks. These were our internal working titles anyway. In the end, it's a big compilation with 21 artists that we don't want to pigeonhole, because it's a big zoo! Thank you to Marcel Kreuzer aka Zoologne for the lovely cover art.

And what Lannakise sang into the mic for LOPEZHOUSE is definitely a big hook with barbs that sticks in your head. A pristine pop house masterpiece from the La Mancha native. We're delighted to welcome back Amount, aka Nayan Soukie, to Darkroom Dubs as he returns with four subterranean throbbers that effervesce with trance-inducing lawlessness. 

A Darkroom Dubs favourite who first debuted in 2013 as one-half of house-combo Soukie & Windish. Since then, he's flourished as a renowned producer, DJ, and seasoned live performer, developing a penchant for sleazy burners primed for the darkest of rooms and those hazy, sunrise-lit, after-hours moments. 

This latest offering from the Berlin native, entitled Zeroton, is an essential addition to an already impressive back catalogue, with appearances on imprints such as Feines Tier, Running Back, Frank Music and his own URSL label.

Jacques Renault c’est un trublion. Élevé au post punk à Washington DC, il part vivre à Chicago en 1997 et tombe amoureux de la dance music. Prenant rapidement ses marques il intègre le label Gramophone Records et lance sa première résidence au Smart Bar. Quelques années plus tard, il poursuit sa route jusqu'à New York et trouve son bonheur dans la house et la disco. Il devient alors une figure emblématique de NY avec des résidences aux York Happy Endings, APT, Tribeca Grand, 205 Club et tourne dans le monde entier.

La suite vous la connaissez bien : il signe sur DFA RECORDS, I’m A Cliché, Italians Do It Better, Future Classic, Rekids…et crée son label On the Prowl avec Marcos Cabral avec qui il produit sous le nom Runaway puis, c'est le début de l'aventure LET'S PLAY HOUSE avec Nik Mercer. Consistant tout d’abord en des soirées itinérantes, d’un entrepôt à Brooklyn aux Salons d’hôtel à Manhattan Jacques et Nik ne manquent pas d’imagination. Face aux succès de ces soirées, ils décident de lancer le label que l’on connait aujourd’hui. Ses sets sont toujours à l'image de son aura : riches, navigants entre des classiques disco, du groove house et même une pointe de techno puissante et lancinante.

Après 6 ans d’absence, il est enfin de retour à Montréal ce vendredi au Bleury Bar À Vinyle. En attendant, il nous a fait l'immense plaisir d'être l'invité de notre série MIXED BY.
